In this life, most anything can be an opportunity to grow if you look at it in the proper light. All day long we are observing and processing data, and either consciously or unconsciously, we are learning from it in some way or another. It is shaping our perceptions, which, in a sense, is a form of growth, as with growth comes change.
Even as I type this, I am not the exact same person I was just a few seconds ago. I have processed data, contemplated it, even briefly, and changed in some small way. Maybe the change is so slight it’s the equivalent of being microscopic.

I could say that I have grown just from making this post and contemplating the topic of growth itself. Perhaps this is the meaning behind the thought that even the little things in life matter. But, that’s for folks smarter than me to figure out, and I know full well that I have strayed quite far from the intent of this prompt.
The insinuation I glean from this prompt is they’re looking for major experiences. To that end, I will give a list, but will not elaborate, as these are not topics I wish to speak very much on right now.
In no particular order:
Joining the service.
Becoming a father.
Losing loved ones.
Losing a job.
I think the above are pretty self-explanatory. They are major life changes, and you can either stay as you are, which is nigh impossible unless you like the taste of failure, or you can adapt, grow and (hopefully) improve.
The opportunities to grow are all around us. Whether we take advantage of them or not is an individual decision. The tools are there; we merely need to utilize them.
