Sounds Like Hobbies/Leisure To Me

Daily writing prompt
What activities do you lose yourself in?

This seems slightly reminiscent of the hobbies/leisure prompts from a month or two back. Ah, well…Whatever, eh? ๐Ÿ˜„

Things I can lose myself in are pretty much the same as ones I listed in those prompts.

Playing guitar: I don’t do it as often these days, but when I do, time flies by.

Writing/Creating Pictures: Probably what I do the most for leisure these days.

Reading: Again, have not done a lot as of late, but a good read is easy to get lost in.

Exercise: If I’m properly motivated and feeling good, a workout can last a couple hours easy. The norm is usually 30-60 minutes, but it does whiz by pretty quick.

That’s pretty much it! Stay tuned for when WP asks us what activities make time go quickly! ๐Ÿ‘

  1. When I am motivated to do some exercises at home it can be 30 to 60 minutes for me too.

    1. Do you notice it goes by quickly as well, Liz?

      1. Yes, it does go quickly.

      2. Same. Every once in awhile it drags, but rarely I find. Do you do resistance training, something else, or a mix?

      3. I do a mix. When at home I may use resistance bands. But mostly I use 1kg and 3kg dumbells for strengthening arms.
And Tai Chi or a HIIT workout.
This is in addition to the walking I do everyday to and from work and when I walk on the trails.
But for rhe last few months, I have been slack. Including the use of my dumbbells that were the only thing I kept doing at one point. And I know about it from not doing them.

      4. That’s great that you have a such a good mix. I like to use the resistance bands from time to time too. That, free weights and bodyweight workouts for me. I got a bit lazy for a bit too. Been working my way back lol

      5. Yes. I used one bodyweight workout and that was squats. I was sometimes doing lunges too. But left those off as felt my knees were not ready for that. Although if using a dvd HIIT workout, then sometimes I was doing them.

      6. I hate squats. I find I like them a lot better when I turn them into barbell curls ๐Ÿ˜„
In my defense, I also have dodgy knees, so I have to go sparingly, so I understand what you mean.

      7. I didn’t used to like squats myself. But I did see the benefits for it. Benefits I have lost with stopping.

      8. I try to get some in from time to time, but I have to be cautious. Funny enough, leg extensions and leg curls rarely bothered me.

      9. I think it is a goid idea doung a mix to make it interesting and for me flexible depending on if I get bad fatigue or not. Just so I was doing something.
The dumbbells were the latest thing I introduced last year and mentally, they were the best thing for me. Those I did stick to set days with and wouldn’t slack off until I did stop.

I do need to get back into it.

      10. You are spot on there. Boredom is what kills most workout routines. Even as much as I love weights, form time to time I need a physical break, or get mentally tired of them.
        It’s a very wise approach you’ve taken.

And apologies for my typos in that comment. It’s one of them days I think.

      14. “Fro” instead of “for”, and misspelling “appreciate” (somehow, the A always ends up before the I) are two of my better ones. If you see any, those are usually the top two. ๐Ÿ˜„

  2. For me it’s writing, creating pictures, and reading. So we have that in common! I don’t like to exercise, though I see the benefits and I’m trying to develop the habit. Great ape pics! Or is it a gorilla?

    1. Well, they do say great minds think alike after all. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
Thank you! ๐Ÿ˜Š It’s a gorilla, but technically, they are considered apes too, so it’s all good! ๐Ÿ˜„

Very good activities to get lost in. I mostly just watch TV or blog ๐Ÿ˜‚.

    1. TV is almost always on, but I rarely pay attention these days unless a game is on. It’s mostly background noise lol

  5. Thereโ€™s not point working out more than an hour for me! Waste of time! Unless oneโ€™s an athlete

    Liked by 1 person

    1. It’s usually about an hour, but if I am feeling good I’ll keep going and hardly notice it’s even been that long.
