Tale of the Time Traveler

They refused to believe

I could travel through time

Said that I was insane

I’d forsaken my mind

Taken leave of my senses

I should be locked away

In the nearest asylum

For the rest of my days

And they could not believe

I’d seen rises and falls

I was there as a witness

Yes, I witnessed it all

I saw whole revolutions

I saw wars far and wide

I saw men rise to greatness

And I saw genocide

I saw the best and the worst

That a person could be

But these fools they won’t listen

They won’t listen to me

I have tried to forewarn them

But it’s to no avail

So our ignorance guides us

Will it guide us to fail?

      1. You’re always welcome 🤗 this one was really really good. It gave that feeling of really zoning through a different dimension and seeing and feeling, paints a picture in your head

  3. I’m fascinated with time travel, but it wouldn’t help us. We don’t learn from past mistakes, we crazy humans. Good poem, Kevin.

  8. Another hit! In the same week! 😎 This brought to mind Mick and the lads…

    “I rode a tank
    With a general’s rank
    As the Blitzkrieg raged
    And the bodies stank”

Different protagonist for sure, but I just finished your “Nine circles” poem and it seemed related somehow. Great job 😎

  10. Awesomeness in a bottle! Time is a circle, to begin, you must have an end, regardless of where you entered it from, it will still meet.
