Sometimes hope, determination and reality meet.

OK, yes. I sneaked an NTT mashup in too. 😉

Although the prompt word is “hope”, you can make it work. 😉

      3. Ok, so you have to come up with a six word story containing the word hope? I’ll take a look

      5. I completely failed in my attempt to make a post with a ping back and a link etc to the post and I even followed the instructions to do it but they were on a different platform than me I think so In the end I just admitted my technophobic attributes and posted my story in the comments. At the end of the day I have still posted an attempt at it but just in a different way to everybody else 😂🤦🏽‍♂️

      8. To be honest Shweta I’ve been blogging for three years or so now and I started off with it completely blind. I’ve had to figure out everything by making mistakes or getting things right (as we all do). I blog on my iPhone and don’t use web based version or the WordPress link I sometimes see. It’s difficult to understand how to do something when you’re not in the company of a person et al that can advise you. I watched the link on your post about pingback’s and it was completely different to the way I saw my profile and post etc etc. However, I love the idea of the six word stories and I have a fellow blogger who posts them and I continue the narrative with my own six word story. I liked the twist with yours with the word you have to use as it engages your brain to create something new. I’ll subscribe to your blog and I’ll look forward to seeing your future six word story posts 👌

      9. WordPress can be a bit difficult to navigate. It’s taken me a few years to figure things out too. Oh, the comment on my link would have just dealt with Android based version. I had posted those links back in 2018 or 2019 when I started the 6WSP challenge. I’ll go back and see if things have changed since then. I didn’t have an iPhone and back then I hadn’t thought of adding the iPhone version of creating pingbacks. It is difficult to understand indeed. Pingbacks can drive you mad even when you think you know all about it. I love six word stories too. That’s what led me to creating 6WSP challenge. I have got to check out this fellow blogger who posts six word stories. I’m glad that you found 6WSP interesting. Thank you for the support. Looking forward to reading yours too. 😊

      10. I randomly get a notification of a comment on a post I made and when I look at it it’s a ping back notification but I moved a post on to a page ages ago. It doesn’t make sense. I find that my blog, which isn’t particularly well followed, received a lot more traffic and interactions when I was answering the Daily Prompt feature. As they’ve now become a regurgitation of previous posts I haven’t been answering them and I have seen my stats have dropped massively. I’m not trying to say that I crave likes or comments and popularity but rather that I don’t feel that your blog is promoted (in the general sense) by the website if you don’t do this or that? 🤷🏽‍♂️

      11. I rarely post use my phone to draft and publish posts. I find the desktop version much comfortable while drafting and publishing. I don’t know much about pingbacks on iPhone to offer any advice. Sorry about that. It’s great that daily prompt helped drive traffic to your blog. I usually take back in prompts hosted by various bloggers because I mostly write fiction these days. At times, WordPress promotes a very select posts as featured posts. I’ve got a lot of traffic for some posts that got featured. But other than that, my stats aren’t exactly skyrocketing. But I get your point. It’s nice to receive responses to content that we have created. I’ve found that participating in prompts and engaging with other bloggers goes a long way. WordPress is a great place to connect with bloggers from all parts of the world.

      12. Absolutely right. Prime example is our connection today isn’t it 🤗 I like the anonymity of blogging in the sense that it isn’t broadcasted to everyone and anyone, it’s simply posted and there for anyone who wants to see it. It’s their choice. Self proclamation is something that I don’t want to do, hence I have no social media platforms as I feel they’re just a breeding ground for one up man ship and self gratification. But it’s each to their own and I’m not in any position to judge others for their choices

      13. Yes indeed. That’s a very good example. Yes, it’s the reader’s choice. I’ve got a few friends and family who follow my posts so I do post my content on social media. As you so rightly said, to each, their own! I’m glad that we were able to connect today 😊

Btw, Kevin, sorry for hijacking your comments section but hey you were the reason the two of us were able to connect! 😁

      16. The daily prompt will almost always generate more traffic, as WP promotes them heavily, yes.
And stats have been down across the board for a lot of us.
It’s been much more quiet than normal on WP the past few weeks.

        Liked by 2 people

      17. I didn’t realise that WP was heavily pushing the current daily prompts posts. I have never given it a try. Back in the day, they used to give a word prompt as the daily prompt. Now, that used to be fun.
WP has become quiet indeed. So many bloggers I’ve known over the years are not active anymore. Hopefully things will pick up soon. 🤞

      18. Someone told me it tends to be a bit quieter starting in September or so. I have no frame of reference for that, but I know when I started last Dec, it was pretty busy, and Bloganuary (January) was too.

      3. I definitely plan on keeping the 6WSP challenge going. 😃
I usually work by day and blog by night. Well, I try to, anyway. When hectic work days descend, my blog takes a back seat. It is hard to juggle both.
But then again, I spend a lot of time reading blogs than writing these days. As for 6WSP, you can submit your response anytime before a week. I don’t know what 8PM IST will be in your local time but maybe you’ll be able to schedule it over the weekend.

        Liked by 2 people

      4. Oh, yes, I can get it done within a week. My schedule rotates, which is my biggest issue. I work two 12 hour shifts one week, and then five 12 hour shifts the following and it alternates as such. If I worked an 8 hour day, I’d have more time, but on 12s, sleep becomes a priority – when I can actually sleep, but that’s another topic altogether lol

        Liked by 2 people

      5. Ohh that’s pretty hectic indeed. I work 9 hour shifts and I’m just barely getting through. Can’t imagine how you are managing. Sleep just definitely be the priority.

      6. I just do it because I have to, I guess. Unfortunately, these days, sleep tends to elude me, but I do what I can. 🤷‍♂️

      7. Unfortunately I find that a bit relatable too. It’s almost as if my mind goes into overdrive when it is supposed to be resting only to be tired the next day when I need it to be alert. It’s a vicious cycle.
