Like Indiana Jones…

Bloganuary writing prompt
What’s the thing you’re most scared to do? What would it take to get you to do it?

“Snakes, why’d it have to be snakes?” – Raiders of the Lost Ark

Side note: Re-watched it recently and man, what a great movie.

Yeah, snakes. Not a huge fan. 😄

I’ve had friends who owned snakes before, and I’m good in small doses, but a situation where there’s more than a couple? Yeah, I’m all set.

If I ever had to bomb through a room full of them because it’s a matter of life and death, that’s my motivation right there. That, or a very sizeable chunk of change.

Other than that, I’m content to live vicariously through Indy’s exploits.

Which segues quite nicely into me saying I think I’m going to re-watch the rest of the Indiana Jones series. I saw the newest one recently and re-watched Raiders, so I might as well watch the other three in between.

  3. What am I afraid of? Dying alone. My mother died alone. My father did as well. I’m not really afraid, I’m just concerned where I’m going in the after life, that’s all.

Dunno why because the Gods and Goddesses will decide, not me.

  4. Yeah Iam not a fan of snakes either, but I have never seen one other than a zoo.
I am afraid of heights, but also looking up to large things, like sky skrapers or a cruise ship.
Luckily, neither are common here in Europe 😮‍💨

    1. I don;t mind heights. We used to rappel off towers and stuff in the service and that was actually pretty fun I must admit lol

  6. Without a doubt some of the best movies ever made. And I can’t think of anyone better than Harrison Ford to play Indy. But I’m with you when it comes to snakes …. no thanks! 😂

    1. The first three are definitely classics, and I can say that I did enjoy the other installments as well. It’s not like I went in expecting Hamlet! 😄
I recall hearing how Tom Selleck was also considered for the role, but I cannot picture anyone but Ford in those films!

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Agree. Selleck would have been an excellent choice …. THEN. Now Harrison Ford owns the role. He has the facial expressions and a certain charm that Selleck is missing.

        Liked by 1 person

      2. Selleck is great, but I cannot see him pulling off the slight imperfections that make Indy, well…Indy lol
Again, I might feel differently if he had been chosen instead. Who knows? 🤷‍♂️

  7. I think I’m with you on this…one or two and I’d be ok, but not a room full! How are you with the 8-legged freaks?!🕷️

    1. I don’t get too worked up over the normal ones. If it’s like the size of my fist or something, that would likely be a different story lol

  8. Don’t go to China this year, then🤓. Enjoy the weekend my friend!! And if you like Harrison Ford as well as Indiana Jones, there is a movie just right to the corner with him on it, I watched the trailer couple of weeks ago when I went to cinema to enjoy a different film and I definitely go for this “Captain America” film just for him🤣 (not big fan of Marvel, though🤓)

  15. Even Temple of Doom & Crystal Skull? Love Indy, but disagree with the storytelling choices on those two, so I like to pretend they don’t exist.

    Liked by 1 person

    1. They might not be the strongest in the series by any stretch. but I can still watch them, yes lol
Temple also has a nostalgic value for me, as it was the first Indy film I got to see in an actual theater, so I will always have a soft spot for it.
