Like You Read My Mind

Daily writing prompt
Do you have any winter pics to show?

It’s the darnedest thing.

I was just sitting around thinking “Gee, I post a lot of moon pictures. Maybe I should post something different, like some winter ones.”

Lo and behold, here we are. Amazing. ๐Ÿ˜„

Jokes aside, we had a pretty substantial snowstorm Saturday night/Sunday morning, and I got out at various times to capture a few pics. It was very quiet and peaceful. I quite enjoyed it.

Perceived inconvenience of cleanup aside, there is something downright magical about the world when it’s under a blanket of fresh white powder. One cannot quantify the effect of calm, peaceful silence that a fresh snowfall brings.

I hope y’all enjoy these and have a great day.

  1. Darn, I won’t be posting any winter pictures because we are in the middle of summer where I live…and our winter is equivalent to your summer I guess…hardly any frosts definitely no snow or sleet…I did live a couple of winters’ where our country does have light snow but there was none those years and we had sleet which was awful to drive in..the windscreen wipers kept getting stuck…
I’m enjoying hearing about your winter, though!

    1. Oh, sleet is the worst for sure. Our winters are far milder than they used to be overall, but we still get a few decent snowstorms every year.
Personally, unlike a lot of others, I like this time of year.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you.

  2. I love snow pictures. There is something magical about them. It evokes that feeling the world has stopped just to let the snow settle. The silence as everything hides away!

I rather like the winter time, so I think I’d feel a bit lost without it. lol

I like it for a few days. Thatโ€™s why I love being in Arizona because the mountains are so close but when I was growing up, my life wouldโ€™ve been incomplete without it.

      2. I can get that. Controlled doses are probably all some folks want or need. Understandable lol

  6. Very pretty pix, Kevin. I know what you mean about being covered by a blanket of snow. I love the quietness of it. Here in the southern portion of Westchester County, NY, we don’t get nearly as much snow as we used to; even as recently as 10 years ago we’d get a snowfall that lasted all day with significant accumulation. It’s the shoveling that’s gotten to be a major task. Since my back surgery I’m not allowed to shovel at all anymore and my mister needs to pace himself (rotator cuff). Fortunately we have a neighbor with 3 sons and they come over to bail us out! One of the perks of getting old. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Enjoy the snow and thanks for the pix! โ˜ƒ๏ธ

    1. We don’t get nearly the amounts we used to either, so I hear you there.
Yeah, the cleanup can be a hassle, for sure. Even more so if you have issues getting in the way. Luckily, I emerge mostly unscathed ๐Ÿ˜„
Thank god for decent neighbors. Not a lot of those left these days either! lol

  12. Nice pics bringing me back to when there was snow in my life. During this cold spell in Florida instead of freezing I actually wished there would at least be some snow outside but some parts of Florida did get snow. All I see are waving palm trees and when I sometimes have had enough I look outside and stick my tongue out at them but for the most part we get along quite well, You can pretty much get used to anything,

    1. Thank you very much, Sandra. Indeed, we can get used to most anything, but I think I would really miss my traditional winters. Fall and Winter are usually when I feel most at peace.

      2. I find it much easier to find in Fall and Winter. Maybe because life in general is a bit quieter. People start to hole up a but more that time of year.
