Soar So High

I long to soar among the clouds

Above the din I find so loud

I long to touch sweet sanity

I long to spread my wings so free

To be away from all below

To find a peace so few can know

To hear the song of eagle’s cry

A song so sweet I can’t deny

Someday you’ll look up in the sky

To see me soaring ever high

As I compose this, I am currently recovering from a slight ailment that took a bit of the starch out of me for a second.

Normally, I find these setbacks frustrating. Just when you think you’re feeling good again, here comes something to push you back a step or two.

Now, no one likes to feel lousy. Speaking plainly, it freaking sucks.

Today, I tried to look at is from a different angle. Yes, I don’t feel great, but I could feel worse. Also, I am slightly better than yesterday, so that’s progress, I suppose.

Maybe I don’t exactly have the energy to soar today, but that doesn’t mean I can’t look to a moment when I am able to again.

I hope you find a reason to soar today, and if you haven’t yet, keep looking. It’s definitely out there.

Have a great day, folks. 😊

🙂 Have you ever seen the meme that is someone riding rapids, captioned:
        THEM: “Go with the flow”
        ? Haha. It’s so apt.

Yesterday I saw one with thousands of ducks running through a street, messing up traffic. That one read “Me getting my ducks in a row”

        hehhehe

You were soaring in that great poem and photo to match! That means you are feeling better than you think; otherwise, it would have been a sad poem. 🙏

I think the rapid weather shifts are slowing my recovery. It was almost 70 the other day and then we had a wintry mix that evening 🙄😄

  12. What an uplifting perspective! I was especially moved by your final thoughts: “Maybe I don’t exactly have the energy to soar today, but that doesn’t mean I can’t look to a moment when I am able to again. I hope you find a reason to soar today, and if you haven’t yet, keep looking. It’s definitely out there.” Beautifully written and incredibly inspiring—thank you for sharing!
