Good day, all! I figured it’s been more than a minute since I busted out a Triple S, so what the hell, eh?
Not gonna lie. This edition is gonna be heavy on the rock. I might toss a left field pick out there, but at the moment, my heart is saying “rock n’ rolla”. ๐ค๐ค
First, in honor of Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne’s last live gig July 5th 2025, I’ll throw out a little something as a toast to that.
I went with “Crazy Babies” because I wanted to toss out something different than “Crazy Train”, “No More Tears”, etc. Plus, I think No Rest For The Wicked is a bit underrated as an album. There’s some good stuff on there! It was also the debut of Zakk Wylde, who just happens to be one of my favorite guitarists, so well, there ya go.
I went with “Supernaut” from Sabbath for a similar reason. Yes, “Paranoid” is a certified classic, but I wanted to go a slight bit outside the box. Sorry, but I love this riff!
Truly, Ozzy and Sabbath have so many great tunes that it’s inevitable that picking just one is extremely difficult.
That said, thanks to Ozzy and Sabbath for 50-plus years of incredible music and performances! Words cannot do their impact on the music industry justice.

Metal Moonweasel approves!
Got back into this tune after the recent re-release with Dolly Parton (yes, Dolly Parton) came out. I don’t know that it was the first power ballad like some claim, but it’s definitely a legendary one at this point.
Bonus add: The new version that was just released featuring Dolly. It was released for a charitable cause, so that’s pretty cool if nothing else.
“Since you’ve been gone things don’t feel the same.”
Truer words were rarely ever spoken.
“Encore, Thank You, Goodnight” is Sammy Hagar’s tribute to the late, great Eddie Van Halen. Sammy says it was inspired by a dream he had about him and Eddie writing songs together. Definitely some Van Hagar vibes going on here.
RIP, Eddie. We still miss ya.
Trixter were a semi-popular band back in the day. They are probably best known for the song “Give It To Me Good”. Due to the fact that I like a good cover tune, I thought I’d share their version of the Supertramp classic. I’m one of probably about ten people who found out this even existed. ๐
Not just one of my favorite songs off Hysteria, but one of my favorite Def Leppard tunes overall. On an album stacked with killer music, this is definitely right near the top for me. Hard to pick just one!
And, on that note, we’ve reached the end of this edition of Triple S. Enjoy the tunes and have an awesome day!
