Because: My blog, my rules. πŸ˜›πŸ˜„

I wanted to get this out yesterday, but time and all that. So, today it is.

Per usual, I am just going to toss out some tunes y’all may not have heard of, or have not heard in a minute or two. Hopefully you can find something enjoyable to listen to in the pile.

Have a good one all! πŸ‘

“Learning To Fly” – Pink Floyd

Released in 1987, A Momentary Lapse of Reason was the first Pink Floyd album without Roger Waters. After multiple legal battles, guitarist David Gilmour and company continued on without him. While some have disdain for this album due to the fact that is not the classic Floyd lineup, it was a successful release, and was followed by an equally successful world tour. I actually saw them on this tour, and I can truly say it was an incredible show and possibly one of the best I’ve ever seen.

“Keep Your Eye On The Money” – Motley Crue

Off 1985’s Theatre of Pain album, which is known primarily for “Home Sweet Home” and “Smokin’ In The Boys Room”, this album cut is, in my opinion, one of the stronger songs off the album behind the two singles. It’s a well put together tune and includes a kickin’ Mick Mars guitar solo.

“Let’s Talk About It” – Dweezil Zappa

Off Dweezil Zappa’s 1986 album Havin’ A Bad Day, which was his debut solo album. The song features his sister Moon Unit Zappa on vocals, and the video was in heavy rotation on MTV, as both were VJs on the channel at the time. Considering that he was in his late teens/early twenties when it came out, the song is pretty damn good and features some great guitar work.

“Smooth Up In Ya” – BulletBoys

Released in 1988 and heavily influenced by AC/DC and Van Halen, the BulletBoys self-titled debut album was fairly successful, reaching number 34 on the Billboard charts and achieving gold (500k plus units) status. Subsequent albums did not perform as well, but the group still exists and tours regularly.

“Aftershock” – Van Halen

Off 1995’s Balance, this album cut is one of the heavier off the album, their last with Sammy Hagar. It’s not very well known, but it’s got a great riff, cool harmonies, a killer solo (of course), and quite possibly the meanest pick slide ever committed to tape. RIP, Eddie. Still missing ya.

“(Hold On) To The Dream” – Sebastian Bach

I figured I’d end this week with something new. Recently released by former Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach, this is a pretty damn good tune. Pretty freaking solid and heavy. If you are a fan of Bach and/or Skid Row, I think you’ll enjoy it. Check it out!

Anyhow, that’s it for this week. Hope y’all enjoy and have a good day! 🀘

  2. Good music choice! Speaking of Roger Waters, there’s a song of his that I like to cry to when I listen to it. It’s ‘It’s a Miracle.’ I don’t know what it is about it, but I just feel goosebumps, shivers, and tears gathering in my eyes.

      1. What’s the story on your No Theme Thursday? I see many posting to it.

      2. Hey Ernie, the story is every Thursday I post a bunch of random images with no overreaching theme (as opposed to medieval, sci-fi, etc.), and another blogger suggested making it into a challenge.
So now, I post the pics every Thursday, folks pick one they like and write a post based on what the image says to them. Could be a poem, short story, commentary, whatever.

Went to see Pink Floyd on that tour as well. Terrible seats but managed my way forward and then forward still, until I was somewhere in a good spot on the floor. One of my favorite concerts ever!

    1. I had pretty decent seats, but honestly, just the experience itself was cool to be a part of.
