Challenge Accepted (Prompt: 1/1/24)

Daily writing prompt
What are your biggest challenges?

First and foremost, a Happy New Year to one and all! I hope this year brings infinite blessings to each and every one of you!

Well, I guess it’s somewhat appropriate to start off the new year ready to dig into some challenges, so here we go!

My biggest challenges have really been the ones I’ve been discussing since I started this blog a few weeks ago.

Mostly they revolve around finding a new (and better!) job, furthering my education and getting back into shape both physically and mentally.

I’m not worried about the physical aspect. That one is pretty cut and dried. That’s the part I’ve always enjoyed, so I am really not sweating that.

It’s the mental game that’s going to take more work. A lot of bad conditioning over the years has led me to where I am: in rebuilding mode.

I’ve made some good strides so far. I’ve learned a lot about myself since all this went down in early December, and I am very proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish thus far.

That said, the road is just beginning and I am not so naive as to think that it’s all going to be sunshine, rainbows and free ice cream every Friday.

The challenge is going to be to keep reminding myself that this is all a work in progress and every day is not going to be a sprint. Most days it’s gonna be a marathon.

I am truly looking forward to this fresh start and I am beyond grateful to be in the position I currently am. I know that there are others nowhere near as fortunate as I. I am truly blessed.

Again, my best wishes and deepest thanks to all of you who have been following along. Time to kick some ass and take some names in 2024!

P.S.

Seriously…

If anyone knows where I can get free ice cream every Friday that would totally rock.

It’s funny that you’re thinking about free ice cream in the middle of winter. Lol.

When you said~ “The challenge is going to be to keep reminding myself that this is all a work in progress and every day is not going to be a sprint. Most days it’s gonna be a marathon.” ~ my heart melted. I can relate to this as an individual who is trying to figure out a lot in my personal life. Thank you for sharing.

    1. Thank you very much, I truly appreciate that. The longer I am stuck on this rock, the more I realize that most of us don’t have it figured out that well lol
But the key is that we keep learning what we can, when we can and get a little better day by day.
Thank you so much for reading. It means a lot to me.
