As some of you may recall from my post a week or so back,I started taking a course at a local college.
I was also, admittedly, more than a little bitchy about it. I was not feeling 100% when I awoke that day, and I was apprehensive about the whole business to start with.
Anyhow, I changed my diaper, threw my pacifier aside and dragged myself off to school that night.
First couple nights were quite tedious, honestly. It was a lot of getting things set up, etc., and I was getting bored because I was finished and waiting on everyone else. This was solely because a lot of what we were doing was already familiar to me through previous work experience.
The course is mostly self-paced, so by night three things got a lot better. I was able to blow through a lot of the stuff fairly quickly based on the previously mentioned experience, which was nice.
I did complete a business communication course and got a certificate for that, so that was cool.
This week, I am digging in deeper to a lot of stuff like Excel formulas, etc. I have some experience with them, but I’d definitely like to become more proficient.
Overall, it’s been a good experience so far. It keeps me busy and keeps me motivated, so that’s a huge plus right there.
I reached out to the advisor and am waiting to hear back on when I can speak to her about the Associate’s program.
So, after all my whining and complaining, I guess I can say I’m glad I did it.
