Truth to tell, I like most animals. I come from a long line of dog owners, but my current situation doesn’t allow for one. Members of my family have owned everything from toy poodles, dobermans, beagles all the way up to great danes.
I also used to have a rabbit who seemed to think he was a dog or a cat. He would stand up on his hind legs for treats, lay down on my chest for naps, and sit on my lap to watch tv. He had one lop ear and one sticking straight up and a penchant for hot sauce. As rabbits like to chew on things, a vet said to try putting a couple drops of hot sauce on wires and the scent of it would discourage them. Not mine. Rabbit – 1, Tabasco – 0
I currently have a couple cats who adopted me many moons ago, and I enjoy having them around a lot. Even when they do annoying stuff like ripping towels down off the door hanger to make a bed for themselves or disconnecting the WiFi from time to time. π
Overall though, they are very chill and affectionate. Sometimes in the early morning or late evening we’ll just sit and hang out for a bit and we’ll either play awhile, or they will just curl up and purr peacefully.
They’re not quite lions or tigers, but the way they walk around here, they seem to think they are. All said, I guess in their own little way, they do rule their own little slice of this world.
It’s their universe. We’re just livin’ in it!
