Never had a T-Bird so daddy can’t take it away. 😛
Let’s see…Five things I do for fun. I don’t know if I can count that high!
Anyhow, enough of me being a smartass.
Here we go:
Lifting weights and working out.

I started this rather late in the game. Where most guys start in their teens and early 20s, I didn’t start until my late 20s/early 30s. We had PT when I was in the service, of course, but I didn’t start hitting the iron hard until well after that time. My main motivation was the birth of my child. I wanted to be strong, healthy and around for a long, long time. I also feel the role of a father as protector is one that a man should take seriously, and I did my best to emulate that.
Playing guitar.

While I have not played as much as I would like in recent years, the guitar has been a reliable companion to me since I was about 10 years old. I lost some interest for a year or two, but it was rekindled when I was about 13 and discovered rock music, and Eddie Van Halen, in particular. Even if I step away from it for awhile, it’s always right there waiting for me when I come back.
Writing poems.

Another thing I started later in life, and honestly I don’t remember the catalyst for it. I just recall that it was a year or two after 9/11 and I ended up writing a poem about war and soldiers, which is a theme I am sure some of you notice I still circle back to at times. Most of my poetry tends to be on the darker side, but I enjoy it and it helps me filter out negative emotions.
Blogging/Image Creation.

My latest and greatest endeavor. Started recently since I found myself with some free time and the need for another outlet. Thus far, I have greatly enjoyed it, especially the opportunities it’s given me to interact with others. It’s been a great journey so far and one I hope to grow and continue.
Hanging out with friends for a good meal.

Every couple months or so, I get together with some friends and colleagues for dinner and a drink or two. It’s always great to catch up with everyone and hear how they’re doing. It’s a relaxing night out and it’s usually a Bavarian or Indian restaurant we end up at, because let’s face it, they both rock. Personally, it’s a three way tie among German, Indian and Italian food for me. I love them all and can’t choose one. 😄
Anyhow, that’s it in a nutshell for me! If you made it this far, thank you very much for reading. Totally appreciated!
And a special shoutout to AI for so accurately capturing my rugged, manly essence in these drawings. The likeness is almost scary 🤣🤣
