25-Day Burpee Challenge

And no, it doesn’t mean I am going to belch for 25 straight days. ๐Ÿ™„

I actually hate the name of this exercise, but I don’t like the alternative name either. “Squat thrust” just sounds a bit too, well…

Moving on, then!

They also, depending who you listen to/believe, are not exactly the same exercise anyhow.

For those who don’t know what a burpee is, here’s a quick video:

I had initially planned on this being my next 30 – Day Challenge, but a couple things:

  1. There’s only 29 days in February.
  2. I’m still working through this whole neck and back issue.

So, with that being said, this is going to be a slightly more conservative challenge. I am shaving 5 days off this month’s, and I am committing to a far lower number.

Starting on 02/05, the challenge will be to perform at least 25 burpees every day until 02/29.

I settled on 25 because I have not done these in forever, and the previously mentioned issues. I did give myself the caveat of “at least”, which means I can do more if I choose.

Like last month’s challenge, I am giving myself the flexibility of a 24-hour window. They don’t all have to be done at once, although that will be the goal.

I may also throw in a bonus kicker of 50 mountain climbers every other day, but I am still thinking that through. Additionally, if my neck and back act up terribly, I will pull the plug on this challenge.

I’m going to do a test run on Saturday 02/03 to see if this is actually feasible. If not, I’ll have to adapt and come up with a new challenge. I’ll report out every 5 days like I did last month.

Off we go again! Here’s to not trashing my back! ๐Ÿ˜„

    1. Thanks! At least you said it outright and didn’t commit to something you have zero intention of doing like a lot of people do lol

      4. I won’t go down quite that easily lol
If it is too much I will pull the plug, but I am fairly confident.

      6. When it comes to exercise I try to be more self-aware. I’ve been navigating this neck issue for years. Should have gone to someone years ago, but never bothered until now. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

  3. Oh man, burpees are tough. I donโ€™t do the โ€œjumping versionโ€, but I just walk backโ€ฆ if that makes sense?
And that is difficult enough ๐Ÿ˜ญ

    1. Yeah, I kind of get what you mean actually lol
Sometimes I leave the jump out, which is what I think makes them closer to a squat thrust.
      And that’s why I am only committing to 25 a day. It’s been a while ๐Ÿ˜„

  4. Burpee is actually the name of a seed catalog company so when I saw the title of your post today without reading the content first, I was confused lol.

It turns out you have another exercise challenge lined up!! Way to go!!

    1. Thanks much, Melissa! We shall see how it goes. I did not do a test run today, because I twisted my ankle when I got up. lmao
Tomorrow it is I guess ๐Ÿ˜„

      1. Oh no!! How is your ankle feeling today? I have flat feet so I sometimes accidentally sprain my ankle. I feel your pain

      2. Oh, it’s ok, It was only a one day deal where it was a little sore. I had to pivot and postpone this challenge, though. Back is still a bit “meh” and the doctor advised against it for a few weeks. I’ll make an update post on the weekend with my new challenge.

  5. Burpees are tough! My shoulder doesn’t like them anymore. I like making my players do them though!

    1. Yeah, they are not fun at all. That’s why I’ve not done them in ages ๐Ÿ˜„
They are effective, however. We’ll see how my rusty frame likes them! ๐Ÿคž

      1. It is kind of deceptive how difficult they are, but they so kick your ass!

      2. I know! They’re all simple movements, and you watch these vids of people doing them and it seems like cake. Then yo actually do them, and…oh, shit! ๐Ÿ˜„

  7. […] 25-Day Burpee Challenge had to be postponed. Doctor thought it best to wait a little longer on that when I asked her about exercises. […]
