Superhero Saturday (02/03/24)

Good morning one and all and welcome to another edition of superhero Saturday!

I hope everyone’s having an incredible weekend so far!

This week I’d like to give a shout-out to Amy over at “It’s Amy,” I said. for a dose of inspiration/motivation.

In a recent exchange in the comments, Amy said she is a Wonder Woman fan. Lynda Carter Wonder Woman, mind you. I did tell her I thought Gal Gadot did a great job portraying WW in the films, but it was clear from the get-go that her loyalty to Lynda Carter will remain steadfast.

(I did forget to remind her that Cathy Lee Crosby played WW before Lynda Carter, however) 😋😉

Anyhow, enough chit-chat! Thanks for the great idea, Amy! Hope you like these riffs on Wonder Woman!

And in a nod to Lynda Carter and the 70s classic:

And since Wonder Woman sent me down a path, here’s a couple of her running buddies too:

That’s it for this week! Have a great day!!!

  2. Kevin! These are great! It’s like waking up on Saturday morning and watching cartoons. Or watching Wonder Woman on TV at whatever time that was on lol. All of the superhero images are wonderfully done, but of course, it’s WW who holds a special place in my heart. I will not be persuaded that anyone other than Lynda Carter is WW! 😆 I do have a reason, and a story behind that staunchly held belief. I know who Kathy Lee Crosby is, but she is no WW 😆 – if she was, she would have remained in the role lol. Anyway, these images are awesome and I am glad I was able to motivate you to create more cool, art for this Superhero Saturday! Thanks so much, I’m saving them all!

    1. Good morning, Amy. Very glad you liked them.
Since you were the inspiration for this week’s post, I won’t muddy it with a defense of Gal Gadot’s performance in the films. 😄
And the originals and people who made these roles iconic always hold a special place in our hearts. Christopher Reeve’s Superman being another.
I have a few more in the chamber, so WW might be making more appearances in SHS in the near future. Keep watching! 😊

      1. And good morning to you, Kevin. Feel free to defend Gal Gadot’s performance, but I’ve not seen them, and I don’t plan to. 😆 I feel the same way about Christopher Reeve. He is Superman. It’s just how my brain functions. Other actors do the job very well, but as you said, the person who makes it iconic is the one who holds a special place in our hearts. And part of that // for me – is memories of a time that can’t be captured again.
Sweet, I’ll be looking forward to additional WW appearances in the near future! Thanks again for these.😊

      2. And a lot of times that is the key. It’s the time when these people were in these roles that helps color our perceptions, as much, if not more, than the role itself, Spot on.
Like Connery as Bond. I love all the actors in their own way, but Connery will always be numero uno to me.
I am very glad you liked them. Thanks again! More to come.

  3. I didn’t know Cathy Lee Crosby played Wonder Woman, so thanks for that. Gal Gadot is doing a magnificent job but for me Lynda Carter is going to be the forever Wonder Woman.

    1. Good morning, Edward! Yes, she was in a tv movie that was supposed to be a pilot for a series. It did not perform exceptionally well, and a new direction, with Lynda Carter, was undertaken.
