SLDS Follow-Up

When I posted my entry for this week’s SLDS Challenge, I wrote an accompanying snippet of text to go with the image I chose.

Aasthawrites asked me where part 2 was.

Well… I didn’t have a part 2, I told her. I had written it on a whim to give some context to the image. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

To that end, I am going to attempt to write a part 2 now. Again, this is completely outside my wheelhouse, so the bar should be set on the low side. ๐Ÿ˜„

Part 2:

Emil couldn’t quit this hand fast enough. All night long, this stunningly beautiful woman had toyed with him. Staying near just long enough for her perfume to alluringly linger in his nostrils. A light, playful touch on the shoulder as she slowly turned away from him. A quick glance from an adjacent gaming table.

She knew the game and played it well.

In truth, while Emil ascended the stairs to finally claim his most lovely prize, it was the chase which he found most intoxicating. The back and forth of a dance so seductive was what truly made these rendezvous worthwhile.

Indeed, a liaison without a rousing game such as this was just sex. There was no passion, no thrill. Without, it may as well be a transaction with an overpaid, vapid escort.

Women were easy to come by. A worthy opponent, however, was not.

Emil looked around quickly as he approached the cloak room. There wasn’t a soul around. The only sound was the din of drunken executives celebrating their latest windfall down below.

“BrenTek: The Ultimate Soldier in the Palm of Your Hand.”

“Or whatever horseshit sales pitch they’d given the government,” Emil thought to himself as he gently placed his hand on the doorknob.

The lights were dim in the cloak room as Emil shut the door quietly behind him.

“I wasn’t sure you’d come,” he heard her whisper quietly from the corner.

“How could I resist such a tempting offer?” he replied with a slight grin. “You are not so easy to ignore, madame.”

“Lock that door and come closer,” she said in a low, almost desperate voice.

There was an audible click as Emil turned the latch. Slowly, confidently, he made his way to the opposite corner where his prey was waiting to be taken. The chase had concluded. It was time to move in for the kill.

His hands slowly caressed her arms and shoulders as he inhaled deeply. Her scent was downright mesmerizing.

In spite of herself, Eva couldn’t help but feel a soft tingle run down her spine as he touched her. His hands were rough and tender all at the same time.

Her mind was a torrent right now. How could she feel this way? What was wrong with her?
“This bastard killed your father,” she told herself. “The mission, Eva. Keep your mind on the mission.” Her head was spinning as she tried desperately to focus. “What is he doing to me? How…”

Suddenly, he spun her around to face him. As he looked deep into her eyes, she was transfixed. It was as if her very soul was laid bare before him, and there was nowhere for her to hide. She felt completely helpless as he moved his face closer to hers.

As their lips met, she felt an electric jolt run through her entire body. He placed his hand in the small of her back and pulled her even closer. She opened her mouth and invited him in willingly. As their tongues met in a playful dance, she felt her knees grow weak.

“This is wrong,” she pleaded desperately with herself, but to no avail. She let out a soft moan as his hands moved further down her body. She pressed herself even tighter to his hard, lithe physique. It was the only thing holding her up.

“The knife. Go for the knife,” she implored herself, but she couldn’t do it. Her hands were bonded to him like steel to a magnet. She couldn’t let go even though she so desperately wanted to. The only thing she could think of was the burning sensation in her lower belly as his hands explored every inch of her firm, supple body.

As waves of pleasure danced over her skin, she didn’t even feel it. She didn’t feel it at all when his hand slid down to her thigh and found the slit in her dress. All she felt was the need for more. More of his touch. More of this fire.

Then, in a sudden, frozen jolt it happened. Emil found exactly what he was looking for. One hand was on the knife strapped to her thigh, and the other was tight around her throat.

“You stupid little bitch. Do you take me for a fool?”

Eva’s eyes were wide with terror, but even more, with shame. As she struggled to breathe, she cursed herself to Hell and back. He was right. She was a stupid little bitch.

As he freed the knife from it’s sheath, he shoved her hard to the ground. She was on her hands and knees gasping for breath as he examined the weapon meant to bring his demise.

“Agent Kovalenko. Pleased to make your acquaintance,” he said plainly. “I’ve heard so much about you. Your dossier is most impressive.” She looked up at him with more than a hint of surprise.

“Oh, I assure you, I am very well informed. I would not have survived in this business for so long otherwise,” he told her with more than a hint of smug satisfaction.

“Get up,” he said casually, as he pulled a gun from his jacket.

“I think it’s time you and I got to know each other a bit better.”

  2. I loved the first part, and how it ended because it was perfect for the prompt….but you are really good, especially for someone who just wrote this on a whim…, you should consider exploring more in that area, writing thrillers.

I am literally just winging it as I go, and hoping it all falls into a somewhat coherent tale. ๐Ÿ˜„
I tend to think of myself as someone who creates only in short bursts, which is why I don’t put out anything of real substance. I don’t know that the grinding side of writing appeals to me

      2. Thanks very much! I know it’s frustrated many people over the years when I tell them I prefer working on the fly, but it’s just the way I am. I wish I had the gift of forcing through things like some writers/artists can, but I just don’t. When I try working like that, I feel like it’s devoid of any passion or fun,

      3. Yeah that’s so true, always better to do things when one is excited about it than forcing oneself to do it as a ‘have to’.

      4. Indeed. Whenever I try to plan things out too far ahead, it always ends up in a paralysis by analysis situation, so I tend to just go for it and adjust as needed lol

  5. Kevin, you really know how to keep readers reading! That’s a natural talent you’ve got there. If I were you, I’d seriously consider exploring writing. What you’re writing is the kind of romantic suspense I love reading and writing.

      1. I understand that feeling; most artists do. The moment you start playing with creativity, that’s the well primed. Creativity breeds more creativity. You’ll get to the point where you need a notepad in the shower pretty quick.
