A Farewell To Fantasy Fridays (03/01/24)

Well, maybe not a total farewell to them, but a hiatus in the least.

I’ve been doing some thinking about the direction of this little shindig for a couple weeks now, and I have also been talking to some fellow bloggers about it, and I am going to be changing some things up.

With No Theme Thursday, my barbarian adventures, and Agent Eva’s exploits proving to be pretty popular, and frankly, fun for me to write, something’s got to give.

To that end, I am going to be shelving a lot of the daily things I used to do. Realistically, to deliver something of quality that folks can enjoy, I need the time to create it. I don’t want to get to the point where I am starting to dread the next installment of something, just because I feel like I “have” to do it.

I would rather focus on the things I, and hopefully all of you, enjoy, and also post some things that send a positive message. That was the main reason I started this blog, after all.

I won’t ever say never, because when inspiration strikes, I may want to post a poem, a bunch of pics I had fun creating or what have you. To say that Superhero Saturday, or Mashup Monday, is gone forever would be inaccurate. But to just do it for the sake of doing it feels a bit less than authentic to me as well.

And finally, the reality is that I have started looking for a new gig, so the time just isn’t there like it was before. I’d rather devote the time I have to the things I love.

So, with that, I thank everyone for the views, the follows and the support. I hope in some small way, I have justified it.

And on my way out the door, I leave these for your enjoyment.

  1. Au revoir as they say. Take as much time as you need and think about what you want to continue sharing. I understand that life gets busy and it’s not always possible to post as much. Anyway, have a good hiatus and hope you’re back soon!

    1. Oh, I’m not going anywhere personally. I’ll be around. I’m merely cutting bait on a few things and focusing just on some specifics going forward. I just don’t have the time or energy for some of the daily fluff, so something needs to go.

      1. Yeah, it takes a lot of work. Each blog post takes time not to mention responding to comments etc. Glad you’ll keep blogging just refocusing.

      2. Yes, it does. And at some point the quality suffers, and I really don’t want it to come to that. Nor do I want to come to hate the process, which I could see happening if it became what i felt was too much work.

      3. Yeah, I totally understand. You want to enjoy the process.

      4. Exactly. I don’t need something that becomes a chore.

      5. Glad you realised that early on. Lot’s of bloggers quite because they post too often and it stops being fun for them.

      6. Indeed. And I don’t want to get painted into that corner lol

      8. Hell yes it would. I started this wanting it to be a positive experience. If it went the other way, I’d be truly disappointed.

  3. Stunning as always!โ€‚I have the same issue. From kid’s fodder to vulgar, I have diverse, competing, interests. I also have serious issues going on, so I 100% believe in your decision to simplify for the entire point of the love for what you do. Keep in touch as you come and go!

    1. Exactly. It’s just too much, and at some point everything suffers. Better to simplify and just focus on a few select things.
I’ll definitely be around most days, just keeping it a bit more focused. Or that’s the goal, at least.
      Keep hanging in there! ๐Ÿ‘

    1. Thanks, Destiny. I don’t know that I am abandoning them completely, but I don’t want to feel like I am beholden to posting them. I’d rather just do it as the mood strikes and give my attention to the things that I, and hopefully others, truly enjoy.

    1. Morning, Chris. Thanks very much. ๐Ÿ™
Yes, my intention is not to leave, but to merely focus on certain aspects of my blog. I probably should re-title this post. It was meant to be a farewell to this particular aspect of my blog, not my personal farewell. lol
