As Howlin’ Wolf Said…

Daily writing prompt
Are you superstitious?

…I ain’t superstitious.

And for the metalheads:

I don’t consider myself the superstitious type. I believe in the power of positive talk, vibrational matches, etc., but as far as superstitions, not so much.

A black cat crosses my path pretty much every five minutes.

I’ve probably walked under more ladders than I can count.

And I have definitely broken more than a couple mirrors. D’oh!

I’m still kicking, so I think I am ok.

*Looks to see exactly where the damn cat is* 😄

  1. LOL Kevin. You’re a lucky one, Mr. Maybe you’re part cat and get 9 goes at life? I loved all the pictures that match your encounters perfectly. The one with the mirror made me smile. Bless King Kong.

  2. Talking of black cats, there’s a black cat in our neighborhood that we only see during spring, summer and fall. He has THREE legs. My husband and I call him Tripod, he is so adorable. He usually plays with our two kitties and I’m looking forward to seeing him this spring.

  3. I’m not superstitious either. But my mum was and so I followed doing everything she said not to do that came to being superstitious. That was until my late teens when then I rebelled and started walking under ladders, umbrella up inside the house and putting new shoes on the table. Which would wind up my mum.
I said to her, doing all you told me did not give me any luck. So doing what I am doing is no different and at the end of tbe day, I’m fine. 😊

  5. One of my German pals told me that in Germany before the day of their wedding they all get together to break glasses cos for them it’s a symbol of good luck!! My teacher told me crossing paths with a black cat made her days better! Idk!!! It’s like my mom says – belief enriches existence, while doubt renders it hollow! 🌠🌠
