There can be only one

Daily writing prompt
Who is the most confident person you know?

Who else but the one and only G.Q. Rilla himself?

Now, if you are looking for a more serious answer, I would probably say my grandmother.

She didn’t mince words, took no shit from anyone, and was an all around badass woman.

*Mic drop*

    1. I was going to skip it, but I have a streak going. I might lose it when I return to work, but I want to keep it going for now for some stupid reason lol

      3. I know right?! Iโ€™m like, well, this is going to be one line ๐Ÿ˜‚ Iโ€™m having a bit of what you experienced a few days ago, where I wrote out a post just now since itโ€™s 2:49AM and Iโ€™m likeโ€ฆnope donโ€™t like it, sounds like Iโ€™m bitching too much. *trash* dammit, haha.

      4. Aw, that is the suckiest feeling. Wasting all that time and effort for nothing. It really wears you down.
Yeah, same here. I looked at the time, was gonna say fuck it, it’s almost 3AM and then I schlepped the prompt together real quick ๐Ÿ˜Š

The whole job thing had my mind preoccupied most of the day. Talking to friends, family, etc.

      5. Thatโ€™s so exciting! Still so happy for you ๐Ÿ˜€ I understand how much of a relief it can be when you finally get some decent employment going. Hopefully itโ€™s got you in a positive mindset, for sure. And now you know going in what you want, and what you will and wonโ€™t tolerate from a job.

      6. Thank you again. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™
I just hope it doesn’t take away too much from my time here, although I don’t think it will since the schedule is far better than my previous.
The most exciting part is that they seem to be genuinely excited to have me. lol

And yes, a ton of lessons carried from the last job.

      7. Thatโ€™s so good! Whatโ€™s your schedule going to be like?

I definitely admit, itโ€™s hard to write on some days when Iโ€™m busy at work. I try to make the time, but Iโ€™m sure you know, balancing work, home, life, activities and responsibilities outside of writing and all that can be tough, but manageable. And if you have to skip some, then itโ€™s ok.

      8. That was the nice thing about being unemployed. I had a ton of time to devote to this and getting to know everyone.

It’s going to be a 12 hour, 2, 2, 3 rotation. So two on, two off, three on, two off, two on, three off. So, every other week I am only working two days.
A far cry better than five 16 hour shifts and 5 hour Saturdays and Sundays. ๐Ÿคฃ

And yes, it can get tough and I know I will likely miss some days, especially at first as I readjust.

      9. Nice!! Sounds like youโ€™ll still have a decent amount of time to rest and recuperate and also be able to have free time. I miss my 12s, man. Iโ€™m hoping to go on 10s soon!
It definitely sounds like a decent schedule compared to the previous one you were merely surviving! ๐Ÿ˜ญ thankfully.
Iโ€™m sure youโ€™re excited to start a new chapter in your life.

      10. Yes, that’s why I don’t think it will impact my leisure activities too much. Maybe for a few weeks while I get re acclimated to the whole thing, but otherwise not bad.
The previous schedule was just plain insanity. No other way to describe it.

Indeed. Leaving some stuff in the rearview mirror is definitely exciting.

      11. Yeah it takes awhile to get back into working, Iโ€™d reckon. Ugh. If only we didnโ€™t have to work and money could just literally grow on trees or fall from the sky ๐Ÿ˜‚

      12. I don’t mind the working part so much, as the fact that I tend to get sucked into it and drop everything else completely. That’s just the way my dumbass mind works unfortunately lol

It’s always refreshing to hear about strong and no-nonsense individuals who leave a lasting impression!

      1. Your grandmother was a remarkable woman. Sometimes, that no-nonsense attitude is exactly what’s needed to navigate life’s challenges with strength and grace.
It’s clear she left a lasting impression on you, and that’s a beautiful tribute to her memory.

  4. Your Grandmother sounds badass and I love that. Maybe that’s where you get it from, Kevin? What does the “G.Q” stand for in the Gorilla dude’s name? I like your new picture and like that your alter ego is the most confident person you know ๐Ÿ™‚ after your grandmother, of course xx

    1. The G. is just a G. The Q stands for “Quit asking me stupid questions”, when I am addressing WP prompts. To everyone else, it’s just a Q. “GQ” like the men’s magazine. Father was a creative fellow. ๐Ÿ˜„
