I completed my images for Susan Braithwaite’s SLDS Challenge, week ending 03/29. I really liked the version she came up with. It was quite killer indeed!
The prompt for this week is:
A tense standoff at a border crossing
Of course, my dumb ass misread it initially and thought “escape” in my head for some reason. So I spent about an hour doing shit like the following:

Then I looked at it again and had my “duh” moment. ๐
I initially tried to go for something similar to what Susan had, but the results weren’t quite to my liking. I know, I say that every week, but it’s true!
I ended up going a bit more low key and came up with the following:

I actually like the above one a lot, I have to admit, but it’s not quite a standoff. Almost like the prelude to one.

I like the way the colors came out in this one, and I could make a case for this being my final pick. I like the ominous headlights rolling up to greet him.
I ended up going with the one below, and in my head, it’s kind of the face off right before all hell breaks loose and the rest of the team drops in. In my mind, it’s the few seconds right before the big dust up in Susan’s pic.

So, that’s what I came up with for this week. I am pretty satisfied overall, and even liked some of the others that it spat out! ๐
