Many moons ago, after I got into lifting, an ex of mine started calling me that. It just kind of caught on and stuck at the time.
Over the years, as a bit of a joke, some gorilla/monkey handle or something would come back in some fashion, usually if I was commenting on something online back in the days of message boards and needed a quick handle. Years later, and here we are again. 😄

I don’t have any preconceived notion’s about anyone of us having a clue about what is going on or what we should be doing. I find solace in taking literature written by others that I relate with to some degree and rearrange the narrative that becomes more in tune with myself. I have read the piece previously and did like it very much. It raised some interesting questions, particularly about destroying everything in order to rebuild. It seems we humans tend to do this much more than once in our lives.
We seem to have an unhealthy appetite for destroying the current to replace with the new. Prime example now is the petrol cars being replaced by electric cars. Here in the uk I think (don’t quote me on this it’s 2050 or that’s C neutral at least). We have to seriously ramp up the infrastructure to ensure it happens. I get told I’m silly and stupid as I suggests people work in a ten miles radius from home and cycle. Yet where I live Manchester I s and hours drive away and people have a complex that working there is better even though salaries and travel costs are the same. It’s a prime example of destroying ourselves from co2 fumes in cars atm. But if people worked from home car manufacturers would suffer. In essence people will become content with the life they had and then that’s bad for business
We definitely live in a society with a disposable mindset. As someone said it to me just yesterday “planned obsolescence”.
From a business perspective, this will never go away. From cars to phones and anything in between, at one point or another, support for something will indeed just stop, forcing our collective hands.
We have been conditioned to this, but on the same token, sometimes when it comes to ourselves, it can be the best possible course of action. Perhaps not for all, but for some.
While I am not in a very good mindset today, I do know that overall, if I had not discarded some parts of my personality, I would still be far more miserable.
I hope you’re feeling back to your normal self as soon as possible. Some of us have the ability to be a completely different person than we were five minutes ago (with my bipolar I don’t know what person I am one moment to the next), everything is a choice and we sometimes select the right one and sometimes the wrong one. That’s life. If you smile and be courteous to others it’s all you can do and you find that it reaps rewards
