Just Say No?

Daily writing prompt
How often do you say โ€œnoโ€ to things that would interfere with your goals?

I’m working on it. ๐Ÿ˜„

As I’ve gone over ad nauseum in these pages before, I have a bad habit of pushing myself too far, things go off the rails, and I end up screwed.

Far too many double shifts, seven day work weeks and poor sleep/nutrition make for a very unhappy gorilla.

Now that I am feeling better, and things are moving in a positive direction again, I have gotten better at being more selfish and looking out for number one.

I am usually pretty nice about it, but I still send the message that my “do not disturb” sign is hanging on the doorknob.

All in all, it is a learning process, but for the sake of health and sanity, I think it’s worth the effort.

  1. Not an easy habit to change, especially when there are so many people willing to take advantage of a good nature.

How do the Cajuns put it…โ€‚”A heart full of Gimme and mouth full of Much Obliged”, LOL.

    1. No, it is not an easy habit to change. It’s going to take baby steps and lots of attention not to slip right back into it. I’ve had to catch myself a few times recently, but I am happy to say I did manage.
      One day at a time.
