Idle Hands

Idle hands and active mind

Wander through a life unkind

In a hole and in a haze

Wandering through a twisted maze

And though I try to leave this place

Reality is in my face

Mocking me at every turn

A secret I have yet to learn

Don’t want to scream don’t want to shout

Please somebody let me out

  2. I say this on a lot of poems, but I really mean it: I love it!

I felt claustrophobic as I read each line, and I was able to reflect on my own life when anxiety creeps in.

  3. This poem beautifully captures the struggle of feeling trapped in one’s own thoughts and circumstances. It’s like a journey through a tangled labyrinth of the mind, where every turn seems to lead back to the same haunting reality. The plea to break free resonates deeply.
