Staring at the evening sky
I often sit and wonder why
Why we do the things we do
And tell ourselves a lie so true
Convince ourselves of better days
Even when we lose our ways
We stumble blind and truly lost
We pay but we ignore the cost
Constantly the cost will rise
Right before our very eyes
The choice is made the die is cast
We see it through right to the last
But what else is a man to do
But to himself forever true
