I heed the call of battle song

I journey through this valley long

For fighting I was born and bred

A sharpened blade to sever heads

Amidst the grime, amidst the gore

I find my peace when I’m at war

    there is a strange peace there, at times one night we all sat out on the roofs deep in the middle of nowhere in Afghanistan, not a light for 50 miles any direction you could see the cosmic river in the sky like it was just right there, never in my life had I seen the stars as I seen them that night!
