In seconds

A whole race extinct

Despite the warnings

Never learned

And now the earth

Lies dead and burned

A strand of hope

Perhaps one day

We all will find

    A better way would certainly be nice, yes. Unfortunately there lies a fault within a system greater than what we as one person can do anything about, sadly.

        Your poem reminded me of something a family member of mine used to say all the time about history. We have to pay attention to it, otherwise it repeats itself. Anyways, that’s what it made me think of. It certainly was deep. 😊
