Once, I was an evil man.
I lied, I stole and I killed.
Rattlesnake Martin.
I was his right hand.
Rode together since we were boys.
Together ’til the end.
The end came when I least suspected.
He got greedy.
I got dead.
As I drew my last breath,
I saw the bullets,
They cut my wife and boy down.
I spiraled,
Down,
Down,
Down.
I was on my way to meet the Devil.
I begged.
I pleaded.
God,
Let me avenge my wife,
My boy.
I’ll do anything.
I woke.
The spectral horse,
It ambled toward me.
There was a parchment,
In the saddle bag.
“Avenge your wife and son”
“In exchange, you protect the innocent”
“In My name, you deliver justice.”
I avenged my wife and my boy.
Now, I roam these plains,
For eternity.
A Phantom Rider,
Ready and willing,
To defend the weak,
The poor,
The feeble.
I am their justice.
