I waited at the Chinese takeout
You said we’d meet at nine
I said I’d place our order
And you told me that was fine
Lobster rice, the fancy kind
For you I bought the best
But now I’m here and waiting
A sinking feeling in my chest
The owner was a dick
And he said I had to leave
Said I couldn’t loiter
He missed the heart upon my sleeve
I took my takeout order
And I stood out in the rain
The bag was getting soggy
As I cried my tears of pain

So I opened the container
And I took a little bite
But my stomach it was turning
‘Cause I knew we’d have a fight
My fingers shaking as I dialed
I was afraid to hear your voice
Imagine my surprise
When I knew you’d made your choice
All at once it hit me
All at once my world was rocked
You had chose a Chad and left me
And my number had been blocked
