Into The Night (The Realization Of Giving Up)

Giving up

Too old to care

The more you strive

The less you’re there

Looking back

On better days

Looking back

See through the haze

A younger man

You used to be

A spirit wild

So bold and free

Nothing ever

Stopped you then

Then it changed

You don’t know when

It seems you’ve felt

This way for years

And now you’re facing

All those fears

Not vital now

An afterthought

The harshest rule

That life has taught

No need to try

No need to fight

Just fade away

Into the night

ยฉThe Beginning At Last

  3. Never give up
    Itโ€™s not who you are
It may not be as easy
    As wishing on stars
    Your wild spirit
    Itโ€™s still inside
    Youโ€™ll forever wow me
    With your brilliant mind
    Meeting you
    Was so unexpected
    If I ever stopped writing
    I wouldโ€™ve regretted it
    You motivate me
    You inspire others
    Never an afterthought
    To some, youโ€™re a brother
    A warrior, a fighter
    Youโ€™ll never fade away
    An amazing writer
    For all the days
    So pick up your boots
    Dust off your knees
    Words never could express
How much you mean to me โค๏ธ
    Forever and ever
    Yes itโ€™s true
    Hold your head high
    And weโ€™ll see this through

  4. Not everyone chooses to rage against the dying of the light. A poem of perspective.
