The Burning Question

Daily writing prompt
Do you really like pizza as much as you claim?

I really have to get busy fixing the time/space continuum, but I really must take my break first. Shop rules and all, you understand.

My sincerest thanks to the Time/Space Pizza Place for the express delivery!

The burning question everyone always asks…

“Do you really love pizza as much as you claim to?”

My answer? A resounding YES!

Right before I started typing this post, I enjoyed a fine breakfast of thin crust pepperoni pizza. It was a frozen one, but a dash of spice, a drizzle of oil and maybe, just maybe, some bacon crumbles too, make for a mighty fine pie!

I may have also eaten that same thing on Saturday. 🤷‍♂️

And just this past Sunday I had a grand combo style pizza and a gyro pizza from a lovely local establishment. Even better, because it was enjoyed in the fine company of family.

I enjoy all kinds of pizza. Local shops, delivery chains, frozen, homemade…All are quite fine, indeed.

Not quite a French Bread Pizza, but you get the point.

French bread, naan, bagels and English muffins also make suitable pizza breads in a pinch! Talk about versatile!

People may scoff, but with a bit of care and ingenuity, an English muffin or bagel pizza truly can taste damn near gourmet!

And, yes…once in awhile I will buy a box of Bagel Bites just for fun!

This bagel is soon to be transformed from its ordinary state into something downright magical!

So, in closing, ladies and gentlemen, yes, I do like pizza as much as I say. And yes, it’s the same answer I have given the 500 times the Daily Prompt has asked me in the past.

One important caveat.

I do have quite a thing for tacos too. But, that’s a post for another day.

Make ’em extra spicy, please!

Have a great day, everyone! Go eat a pizza! You’ll thank me later. 😊😉

I can respect that 🙂 when I’m slumming it I do Stouffer’s French Bread Pizza. I know it’s awful but not quite as bad as hot pockets.

  8. Wow, what a Prompt to answer! It’s like it was written only for you. By the way, have you tried something called “pinsa”?

It’s like a pizza, but the dough is different and I don’t know if you can put whatever you like on it, but it’s tasty as hell. The dough is pure magic I feel, at least the one brand of it I’ve tasted that’s vegan.

Cold pizza for breakfast is the best! My last pizza had chicken parm topping. Crazy good! 😎

      2. I had an Aldi one that had that topping, and I must admit, that even for frozen, it was great lol
A small bit of lemon juice on cold pizza in the morning is good too.

      3. Was that Monkey Man? Great song which was at the end of Goodfellas.
I never put 🍋 on my 🍕 but I have made one with thin crust, grated mozz, parm & romano, thinly sliced pears, anchovies and a little crumbled blue cheese. NO SAUCE! The salty/sweet taste sensation is amazing but you really need to like anchovies. 😛

        Liked by 2 people

      4. Yes! Thank you, because it was stuck in my head which song it was lol

That sounds excellent, and I actually do like anchovies 😆

        Liked by 2 people

      5. I hate when that happens, and it’s more and more frequent these days! 🤯

Anchovies rule! Get yourself some pizza dough and have at it. It’s really pretty easy but the pears should be super thin and peeled. 🍐

      7. It was on the menu in a pizza place in Manhattan. I’d never seen anything like it before and, since I love all the ingredients, I had to try it. As I said, it was amazing so I replicated the recipe at home as best I could and it came out awesome! No exact measuring; I just let it fly, like I do most my cooking. 🧑🏻‍🍳

      8. I don’t usually measure ingredients either. I go mostly by feel. That’s why I’d never be a baker – I’m not that precise lol
