Ever since December of last year, I have tossed around a lot of job ideas in my not-so-nimble brain.
I have long toyed with the idea of getting out of manufacturing, and in some ways, still have a bit of a goal to ditch it eventually.
But, that said, these days, I find that my perspective has altered slightly a bit.
It’s all about the money, kids. Pay me what I want, and I don’t know that I care what the “career”, “job”, or whatever you wish to call it is.
Want to pay me more than I am making now to go dig ditches somewhere? Fine. Less headaches in at least a few regards. And as a bonus, minimal thought involved, and plenty of exercise.
Just dig, jackass.

Sell hot dogs from a cart or cook short order in a greasy spoon? Hey, why the hell not? I used to love cooking, and might have stuck with it if it paid worth a damn without going to culinary school.
But, unless you get into a really nice restaurant, the pay is less than desirable. Good enough when you’re young and just looking for money to buy your next 12 pack, but beyond that…
However, if anyone wants to change my mind, open the wallet up and let’s talk!

While the above is somewhat tongue-in-cheek, I do find that my main motivator these days is cash, plain and simple.
I’ve given enough loyalty to companies only to get hung out to dry in return that nowadays it’s all about me and what makes my day/life easier.
On that note, I’m gonna see if I can find someone willing to pay me tall cash to be a bourbon taster.
I don’t always set my bourbon on the couch, but when I do…
