I am the hunter

Not the hunted

A reality

Which you constructed

A narrative

I will not fit

A sin against

I won’t acquit

You come to me

With lies in dreams

You attempt to sway

With falsehood’s screams

You speak to me

Your words they weigh

Like boots of lead

Your eyes betray

Your soul is dead

Your soul is dust

And yet persist

You feel you must

Enlightened

So you claim to be

Can’t save yourself

Yet, you will save me?

I am the hunter

I’m not your prey

And one day perhaps

You’ll see that way

    Good job, Kevin! 99 words can be a challenging indeed. But hey, that’s a lot more than having to write 6 word stories. I’m with Laura. I’m pretty sure this might be the first of many

        Lol 🤣 That’s one way to put it. For me, it’s always a struggle to fit what I say into just 6 words. Having a word limit is tough though, I’ll admit. Currently I’m racking my brain to hit the word limit for my Quadrille poem.
        As for your future attempts, I guess time will tell!

        I’ll just say I’ll be approaching with caution or giving a wide berth. I did find this a difficult endeavor. I tip my cap to anyone who can do it. 😊
