The creative well has been relatively dry lately. Hence the pulling up of old posts. I reread through a few and thought they might be worth bringing back for the heck of it.

Old El Paso Stuffed Nachos? Hell to the yes. Nope, still no endorsement deals. 🙄

Hopefully everyone survived another Thanksgiving holiday, and is navigating Black Friday successfully. Personally, I’ll be sticking to the gas station and supermarket today. Far less chance of getting caught in the middle of someone’s war over whatever this year’s hot gift is. I’ll be damned if I’m getting stuck amidst a shootout over a Pokemon card. 😄

That said, in an ironic twist, I have no issue going to the stores on Christmas Eve. Strange, I know.

One goofy thing I always look forward to at Christmas time is seeing what the holiday Coke cans and bottles look like.

Personally, I think this should be next year’s.

I think it’s one of those random memories from childhood that always stuck with me. The yearly ads, the cans in stores, etc. A bit of holiday nostalgia, if you will. Score one for the Coca Cola marketing team, I guess.

Who’s sick of turkey leftovers already? By Sunday, everyone is ready to throw mom’s Turkey Tetrazzini at the wall. It’s ok. You can say it. I won’t tell her.

On that note, it’s time to sign off and with luck, get some sleep. I am typing this post after awakening at 3:16AM.

    Yes. Coca Cola is definitely one of those things drilled in our heads from childhood. I remember the adverts. Always looking forward to them. The fascination with their bottles and cans came later on as a teenager. Although I am known more to pick up Pepsi than Coca Cola as an adult. Rare times it’s Coca Cola, unless it’s cherry coke.
    But for years the fizzy drinks are not a regular thing for me.

      I’ve always leaned towards Coke, but that’s what everyone in the family always drank. I am ok with Pepsi too, but I find it a bit on the sweeter side for my liking.

    Not a Black Friday fan, and it seems they’ve become more scammy over the years anyways. The “on sale” price is the original price, but they try to fool up by marking the original price up higher. 👋 I’m good thanks.

    Do you know why Coca-Cola logo is red and white? It’s not even documented on their website but it’s because originally Coca-Cola contained Cocaine and was sold as a tonic to cure minor illnesses like sore throat or a cough and sniffles. It is red and white to represent the colours of the Peruvian flag 🇵🇪. It is still the biggest legal importer of coca leaves. The Coca-Cola Company uses coca leaves primarily to produce a flavoring agent for its soft drinks. The leaves are processed to extract the flavour while removing the cocaine alkaloid, making it safe for consumption. The Coca-Cola formula includes this flavouring, contributing to the unique taste of the drink.

      Yes, indeed. The good old days when you could buy that and all kinds of crazy stuff over the counter. 😄😄
      It blows my mind some of the stuff that was available back then. Right up to and including having ads in magazines, etc.
      “They’re having a BOGO on opium this week. Yay!” 😜😜😄😄

        Yeah, it was Sigmund Freud that basically made it illegal for us all. He was a great advocate for its benefits and potential to help people with depression (if used correctly). He was subsequently given free cocaine from pharmaceutical companies and he ended up addicted and abusing it. He was researching the connection between a point on the body being stimulated and another point being stimulated in tandem. He had a surgeon friend who was going to conduct an experiment to determine whether this was true. They were testing the female’s Clitoris and the point of the nose. Unfortunately for the woman they were testing this on, they had been on a cocaine bender for a couple of days and the surgeon nearly killed the lady by cutting the blood vessels in her genitalia which led to her bleeding excessively.

        Jesus. I guess they proved how easy it is to go overboard with that stuff if nothing else. One thing humans are not always good at – judgement. 🙄

    I always remember sitting with a huge smile on my face when the Coca Cola Christmas commercial came on TV. To me that was great entertainment. Followed by the Clydesdale Horse pulling the Budweiser sled. Then you couldn’t decide which to have a can of coke or a can of Bud perhaps one in each hand, LOL

    And frosty it is… 34 degrees today but feels like 26. Had to get the good not summer socks out lol We survived Thanksgiving well enough. I made sure to add humor. We needed it. Today is light and I’m glad. The sun has actually decided to grace us with its presence on this crisp day.

      I’m glad you were able to keep it somewhat light despite recent events. Nice that you could all be together.
      It was dreary as heck here yesterday. About 33 and pouring rain. Started out sunny today, and now cloudy with a chance of snow in the next hour lol
