Kymber’s Get To Know You #45

This is my entry for Kymber’s Get To Know You #45.

Check out her blog for this, and many other awesome posts!

Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car?

Drive a car. Although, “be rich enough to chill in the back and get chauffeured around” sounds like the top shelf version of that concept. I dig that energy.

Jet flyin’, limousine ridin’…

If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work?

Yard work. Especially shoveling.

Hell, better yet, I’ll handle the shoveling. Just clean the snow off my damn car for me. I hate that most of all for some weird reason 😄

Yes, I do shovel snow in a t-shirt and jeans, actually.

List two pet peeves.

WP always screwing with stuff and doing away with features that I actually used.

People using the overhead paging system for every little thing.

Bonus peeve: And, not speaking clearly when they do use the overhead paging!

Me after opening WP to another “surprise”, or after someone has used the overhead paging for the umpteenth time for no reason.

Have a great day, folks!

    1. The intercom at work, I mean. People are always using it and 9 times out of 10, it’s for something stupid LOL

  2. I like your car energy a lot!

I saw a guy around here shoveling snow in shorts and flip-flops. LOLOLOL You are awesome in your t-shirt, Kevin! Totally normal. 😀 😀

Right about WP! For real! And so, so right about both points with the overhead paging systems.

Thank you so much for playing. You made my day!

    1. My pleasure, Kymber, Thank you! 😊
WP has earned my ire since I came back on with the stupid reader thing. Highly annoying! 😠

      1. I can see how that would be, Kevin. I wish they’d leave well enough alone sometimes.

  3. Really! WTF’s up with Reader these days. And how do you freaking underline something whiled posting; that icon in Block Editor is GONE!! Stop it, WP!!

    1. IKR? I use underline, too… well, I did. Grr..

      1. I’m going to write to WP about underlining. They helped me with something else yesterday and it worked very easily (for a change!). Maybe they can tell me where to find the underline icon in block editor. Do you use block, Kymber? I can let you know what I find out.

      2. That would be wonderful, Nancy! Yes, I use block and would very much like to know what kind of response you get. Thank you so much.

      3. Hi Kymber. I heard back from WP. We were right; there is no icon to underline something. Here are the very easy instructions they sent me:

You can use keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl + U (Windows) or Cmd + U (Mac) to underline text. Alternatively, you can use the HTML editor to manually add underline tags if needed.

I use a MacBook Air so the Cmd + U combo works for me. You just highlight whatever you want to underline and press the two appropriate keys. Don’t press the + key; it’s just command and U together or control and U together, whichever works for you.

        Hope that helps. Good luck!

    2. I don’t know, but I do not like it one iota. It’s really, really agitating to say the least. Just stop screwing with everything!

      1. I must say, though, to my surprise, the last two times I wrote them for help, their instructions worked perfectly. They have a new automated system now that sends you the information you asked for within 10 minutes; no more waiting for a confusing response from a Happiness Engineer which never worked anyway. This is a positive change!

  5. Ha ha I recognize the problem with the overhead paging. It interrupts you, you lose your concentration, and then you can’t hear what they are saying.

    1. You got it, my friend! It can be quite annoying, especially on an extremely busy day!

    1. As long as I don’t have to brush off the cars, that’s fine. As for the paging, what’s been built can be broken 😄

  7. I’ve decided that, on the snowy car thing, it’s actually a combination of elements.

First of all, there’s the time of morning, when we know that in just an hour or so the sun will have done all this work for us ~ which, that is Number Two, knowing that.

Third, we’re almost never headed somewhere gleefully fun at that particular hour.

Then there’s this very strange set of physical laws I haven’t quite worked out yet, which both hikes our sleeves over the wrist and also send the sprays of chipped ice leaving the vehicle to go with great precision and at high velocity BOTH UP OUR SLEEVES AND DOWN OUR GLOVES simultaneously (?!?!?!?)

Lastly, there’s always something going on that morning for which it is in our best interests to show up looking trim, entitled, and, you know, complacent.

Take away any four of those and we’d be fine, right?
