To each their own, but for me, I prefer to stay out of the political fray. Far too divisive, and these days more than ever.

I wish people would shut the fuck up about the election! Maybe Trump wasn’t your man but he won. Everyone needs to rally now and show their support. We are, after all, the United States of America. Suck it up and move on.
Respecting both the decision to engage and to opt out. 🙂 For me, to compartmentalize some things away disengages, but I certainly get why some choose to!
As I said, to each their own, and I respect that as well. Everyone is definitely entitled to handle and speak on things as they wish.
I just find it too emotionally charged a topic to dive into, especially nowadays. I’ve witnessed enough family fights over this topic that I don’t feel the need to see even more in public lol

Totally agree with you on this! Watching American politics from afar, waiting for the upcoming Ontario provincial election and the federal Canadian election… I am so tired of it all. And yup, it all feels like a dumpster fire. (Besides, I only post fiction and poetry to my blog, so for me to try to talk about it would be pretty forced and come across as heavy handed.)
It’s just more than I want to deal with quite frankly. We all have our thoughts, feelings and beliefs on the subject, and nowadays, most folks are too busy digging their heels in to engage in civil discourse.
There’s a reason I was brought up not to discuss certain topics in public. 😄
