Amongst the ash and rubble
I lay
In pain
Broken
Defeated
The metallic tang
Of blood in my mouth
Choking on the bile
Of my own failure
But still
I breathe

I hate
I swear an oath
Vengeance
Retribution
Those who broke me

My hammer
The leather of the grip
I find comfort
I find resolve

This thirst
