Totally Random and Unplanned

This post, much like life, is, as the title suggests, totally random and unplanned.

I have no desire to share specifics, so I will just say that I got some family news today that, while not fully shocking, was still not something I truly expected to hear.

It’s not my immediate cross to bear, but it affects several members of my family all the same, and as they say, family is family.

This is one of those situations that is likely going to have long-term repercussions and will not be fixed overnight. Truthfully, it may never be totally “fixed”.

And while I am definitely concerned for those directly impacted, and will try to help if needed, I also find myself once again reflecting on how fast things can change and your world ends up completely on it’s head.

Isn’t it crazy how you can be cruising along without a care in the world, and from seemingly out of nowhere, life decides it’s time to give you a harsh, swift kick in the teeth?

They say you never know, and ultimately, I guess we never really do.

I am typing this through a haze of minimal sleep and a bit of mental wear and tear. I don’t know that I had a salient point to make other than just to remind myself and everyone else that we should enjoy what we can while we can, because in the blink of an eye, it can all change.

One gesture, one phone call, one wrong turn, and the next thing you know, you are heading directly into parts unknown.

Enjoy today, my friends, for tomorrow could be completely different, and you won’t always see it coming.

  13. Kevin โค๏ธ a great reminder that things happen in a flash right before our very eyes, and things change. Unfortunately unplanned and often at the hands of others, not even our own doing. Itโ€™s a shock sometimes when things change at the speed of (not so welcoming) light. This is one of the times where I wish I could just be beside you to give you a hug. Get some much needed rest โค๏ธ and may you feel much better upon waking. ๐Ÿ™
