See ya!!
Saying Goodbye
So, as I already alluded to a few days ago, the time at my job was almost up.
Therefore, while this is far from my favorite moment ever, it ranks pretty high for today.
Yesterday I officially put the wrap on my old job.
Apparently, I also made a bit of history. I am one of the few supervisors to ever be allowed to work out his full notice (they usually walk them out almost immediately), but on an even more historical note, by all recollections, I am the first to actually be asked to stay on.
Considering the place has been around for many, many years, that it pretty mindblowing. ๐

Wait…You want me to what??
Of course, the funniest part of it all is they waited until two hours before my last shift ever was scheduled to start, but still…
Maybe they thought I was bluffing?
The more I consider that option, the more I tend to believe it. ๐
Long story short, I respectfully declined.
While I will admit that it was nice to be asked, current state, it’s better for both me and them if we parted ways. I have my own fish to fry at this time, and they deserve someone who can be effective long-term, which I cannot guarantee I would be.

Frying fish and all that…
So, I made the rounds, said my goodbyes and walked out peacefully on a good note. I did my exit interview and kept it simple and respectful. There’s no point in giving them a laundry list of the issues; they already know what they are. As much as a lot of us fantasize about telling employers what we really think going out the door, wasting energy retreading old ground truly serves little purpose.
Doctor, Doctor, Give Me The News
I also had a followup appointment for my recent nagging health stuff. Amazingly, considering it’s been quite some time since I have been to a doctor, had labs, etc., it wasn’t quite as bad as I thought.
That said, there’s definitely some shit that needs to be fixed and looked into more.
As much as I was frustrated with the job and the direction I saw things trending, the overreaching factor in leaving was that trying to get healthy on that schedule and in that environment would be challenging, at best.

POV: If I had stayed at the old job.
So, I am moving onto the next job and hopefully, finally, getting a handle on my health. From 2023 until now, I have been on a physical, mental and emotional rollercoaster several times. Far, far more than I care to recollect.
Random Thoughts From Gorilla HQ (Abridged Edition)

Out in the wilds again.
Normally, GHQ gets it’s own dedicated post, but I am all about efficiency today. ๐
If you have an NTT entry you wish to make, I am going to try collecting them up tonight or tomorrow to get a Showcase post together. It will likely go live tomorrow night or Monday, just for a time reference.
I am going to be starting the new job Monday and also have a ton of doctor appointments in the coming weeks/months, so if I drop off the radar for spells here and there, that’s likely why. There’s going to be some schedule flips (yet again!) while I train and get situated at the new place, so things could be silly for awhile.
Laura is alive and well, for those who have been asking. She is currently still adapting to her new job as well. Her time is at a premium lately, so it’s been tough for her to truly check in.

Black Moon Lilith: Now Comes In Anime!
Thinking about doing a weekly journal type post of Gorilla workouts once things settle. Just an idea at this point, and again, fish to fry and such. We’ll see. ๐ค
Anyhow, if you made it this far, I commend you! You have the endurance of a racehorse!
Have a fantastic weekend, kids!
Stay happy, healthy and…
Frosty, of course.
