Slightly laid up at the moment.
“Curious” is a fitting prompt, because it’s been a curious couple days. Well, curious week, actually, but especially the last couple.
So, as you can see from the above pic, I am slightly laid up right now.
I had a minor procedure done yesterday, and while I feel mostly okay and can get around, I am achy as hell today. That was to be expected, but damn, they really weren’t kidding about the day after.
Of course, I couldn’t be one of the outliers who doesn’t have a problem on day two. 🙄😄
Ah, well. Short term ache for (hopefully) longer term benefit.
Before I go any further, I want to give a huge shout out to our very own Ernie Dawg.
I contacted him the other day to say hello and let him know I was alive, and to please extend my best wishes to the WP community.
He did so, in spades, with this awesome post.

Second, and just as importantly, a huge thank you to all of you for your well-wishes and understanding during my multiple absences! It means the world that you don’t hold it against me and can relate. I truly hope at some point soon I can get back into the swing and find a rhythm that works.

This week started out with another heatwave that lasted about three days. The “feels like” was between 100 and 102. In the shop it hit about 110. Nothing can sap one’s energy quicker, I swear. The heat was one thing, but the damned humidity was the real capper. I needed a knife to cut the air at some points. 🥵😄
We also had a small fire in the plant the other morning, which thankfully, was contained. Caused no real damage and no one was injured.
I am also flipping schedules yet again.
Next week, I will be going in at 3:00AM for a week, then back to regular day shift. Then, last two weeks of the month, I am going back to a 3:00AM start. Then, finally, in September, I am going to nights.
Maybe. 😄
Come on, Autumn!
Yesterday was the coup de grace for the “curious” stuff.
First, I got told that a former place of employment also had a fire (What’s with the fires, man?). Then, an old operator of mine from same place, on the same day, needed a 911 call after a choking incident.
Then, on the way to the hospital, I had an interesting talk with my mother about some family stuff that apparently, I am the only other person who knows about it. Nothing really bad, just some stuff I had no freaking clue about. 🤷♂️
Then, I heard a rumor that the guy who is currently training me at work gave his notice yesterday. Hence my “maybe” as far as the schedule flips. God only knows what’s next.
Little did I know that laying on an operating table was going to be the tame part of my day. 😄
I have some photos from the past couple weeks that I hope to share this weekend, and while I cannot promise 100%, I am going to try and post an NTT this week. Fingers crossed! 🤞
