Decisions, decisions.

Daily writing prompt
Describe a decision you made in the past that helped you learn or grow.

This is another one of those prompts that I find myself saying “what the hell?” to.

I don’t think it’s as much the prompts, as my attitude towards them at the moment.

Every decision could be an opportunity to learn and grow.

What we study in school, what jobs we apply for, whom we socialize with, date, marry, etc.

For myself, I could say the decision to go into the service, into management, take courses at school, etc., were all opportunities to grow. There’s so many that it is hard to isolate any particular one. Some of them even intertwine or overlap in odd ways.

Life might be a highway, but there are a lot of exits and rest stops along the way. But at the end of the day, they bring you to your destination.

  4. Makes sense. It was hard for me to pick one example, but I ended up picking a recent one.
Love how you summarized it, but I don’t know why I feel like I don’t really have a final destination. As soon as I reach the point I set out to, I think – what’s next.
    Nothing really feels permanent =)

  6. I agree. For me, marriage and having a child really pushed me to go. They cause me to break down often as well, but breakdowns lead to breakthroughs, or so I hope.

  7. Life’s a highway with a lot of stops and exits. Well said.

As long as you get back on the highway, play the game of life and don’t rest or stay stuck forever in the exit.

Happens to a lot of folks, they stay a long time in a rest area (past), along the highway (present) and think they’re actually driving towards their destination (future).

You’re on the right track Kevin, you have a crystal clear vision of your destination.
