Where’s Your Fire?

Some days you just have enough and need to let it out.

More and more lately, I encounter people who have grandiose ideas, wild ambitions, and signs that they’ve found their true calling.

In and of itself, that would be awesome and I applaud that.

The problem comes when they hit a roadblock or realize it’s going to take a lot more work than they realized.

What? Did you think it was going to be handed to you on a silver platter?

Did you think a white knight was always going to come charging to your rescue?

Did you think your family or friend was going to do all the heavy lifting because you’re “not capable”, or “have low self-esteem”, or you “had a rough life”?

Do you think you can just revel in doom and gloom all day, every day, and that’s going to attract the right kind of energy to accomplish your mission?

Do you think sitting around crying all day because someone gave you a dose of reality is going to get you closer to your dreams?

Short answer: No. It’s fucking not.

Look, I get it. I get down on myself too. I doubt myself and my abilities at times too.

Who doesn’t? And who the hell hasn’t had some form of harsh suffering in their life?

Do you think Tom Brady, Michael Jordan, or any other noteworthy individual never had moments of self doubt?

Do you think Eddie Van Halen just randomly picked up a guitar one day and revolutionized an entire genre of music?

“Well they had natural talent” I hear you saying.

No kidding.

But they had to hone that raw talent into the polished fucking diamond the public saw.

No one sees the endless incomplete passes, the missed free throws, or the hours of practice hunched over an instrument into the wee hours of the morning that made that talent truly shine.

Everyone else has it so easy.

Bullshit.

Maybe some folks have advantages, yes. But I’m sure if you looked deep down inside you have advantages that someone else may not have.

So, ask yourself this…

When am I going to get good and pissed off, pick myself the hell up and claim my power?

When am I going to show myself and the whole wide, disbelieving world that I am indeed worthy of the things I deserve?

Get up and claim your power.

Do it.

Do it now.

      1. I try to watch a movie at least every other day to unwind and escape reality for a bit. ๐Ÿ™‚

      2. I just don’t have the energy after a 12 hour day and my days off are usually spent getting caught up on stuff that I couldn’t get to. One of these days probably

      3. I do it when I should be sleeping. I’m awful at sleeping. I’m up till 5 am and then sleep until 7 and back up. Then down for a couple more and back up for the day. Around 4 – 4.5 hours total. ๐Ÿฅด

      4. Yeah that’s not too good at all. That’s another reason I avoid that kind of stuff on work days.

  3. Ahhh, yes. An extra dose of reality for all of those who donโ€™t see the behind the scenes work and struggles it takes to actually be successful.

Thanks for this, itโ€™s a nice reminder.

We can often get down on ourselves and wallow in self-pity cycles and itโ€™s not the place to stay at. If something is truly for you, and it never leaves your mind, and you want it that badlyโ€ฆyouโ€™ll make it happen.

    Thanks for the motivation! ๐Ÿ™

    1. Thank you Laura. My pleasure ๐Ÿ˜Š

A lot of times when I write these, I’m writing them for myself as a reminder too. It’s not like I’m sitting up on a throne in judgment, because I’m a susceptible as the next person is.
We’ve all been down before but it’s important to remember that we’re not always out.

      1. Oh, itโ€™s a perfect reminder! As you know Iโ€™ve recently had my own struggles with the job and itโ€™s never easy, but itโ€™s important to persevere and not just give up on life sometimes. Even if we want to.

      2. Yeah I get it completely. Plenty of times it’ll be a lot easier to stay down, but after force yourself to get up even when you don’t want to. And even when you’re trying to improve your situation you’re going to hit roadblocks some anticipated so I’m not, and it sucks. That’s when you have to put your head down and just keep going and know that ultimately it’ll pay off. But sometimes you just need to constantly tell yourself that even when you don’t really believe it

  4. In everything just be thankful; coz itโ€™s when you hit the rock bottom that someone sitting up there shows you that youโ€™re indeed a Phoenix. Just remaining consistent makes the difference between losers and winners.

  5. Weโ€™re all sailing on the same boat Kevin; weaklings will sink when waters are tough but strong ones will sail through. We all need Godโ€™s Grace to sail through. When your efforts are soaked in honesty God rewards, delayed may be His reward but He crowns the absolute Right head.

I deeply appreciate all that youโ€™ve posted. Itโ€™s indeed a reminder for me as well. God bless you โค๏ธ

  7. At last someone is telling the truth: Nobody ever moved on or up in life with constant moaning, procrastination and self pity.

Don’t talk about doing something tomorrow, do it right now.

Actions always speak louder than words.

Thanks for the reminder Kevin ๐Ÿ™
