Hmmm. This poem reminds me of a character called Raistlin from an old Dragonlance series. You are very consistent in the tone of your work, and you use it well, Kevin.
Heartfelt Kevin, this resonates with my, for a second I thought maybe we grew up together but then I realized The gorilla’s I knew then didn’t have a moon weasel. No really, a great poem that touched me. 🏆🏆🏆

I’ll politely disagree with some of the earlier comments. That story sounds alot like me (good writing BTW!), but I’ve never gone down that path. Evil is always a choice. Hollywood promotes sociopath behavior anymore; I hurt so I’m entitled to hurt others, etc… Sympathetic villains, antiheroes, heroes that know better than the law and society. The idea of the traditional hero is all but dead in modern storytelling.
Standing up against evil or calling it out is one thing. Going out of one’s way to hurt others is wrong though.
Mini-rant aside, keep up the good writing Kevin.
