Picture Perfect (Reality In Autumn Night)

A picture perfect moment

On a perfect Autumn night

It is nothing but illusion

Whims of fancy taken flight

Reality is different

It is often cold and cruel

It will leave you feeling broken

Leave you looking much the fool

I once swallowed these illusions

Now I’m wiser and I know

That the world will always stifle

Anything that tries to grow

If you’ve ever lived this moment

Then I bid you hold it tight

For this life is fairly fleeting

Gone like whispers in the night

And if you’ve never known it

Then I bid you welcome to

For most will never feel it

‘Fore their time amongst is through

©The Beginning At Last

In recognition of those who have never known love or have given up on it, and of those who fight the constant struggle to find meaning in this world. While we may think the number is small, I posit that it may be much higher than we even dare suspect.

For some, hope and love are merely an illusion.

If they are your reality, you would be wise to cherish it and be grateful.

Stay well, friends.

  1. Dust blows over everything, until there is nothing left to cover – the stifle of entropy.
But yes, there are glimpses of love worthy of the struggle. A thoughtful post, Kevin.
