Through Halls of Glass & Mirrors (The Disregard of Memory)

In a hall of shining mirrors

As I walk upon the glass

I look at moments faded

All these things I slowly pass

Some stir up emotions

Some stir nothing up at all

Some make me want to shatter

See the shards of memory fall

I force myself look forward

There’s no need to look behind

As I leave this hall of mirrors

I purge the memories from my mind

I’ve no use for your nostalgia

So put it back from whence it came

I bid you stay here with the mirrors

I won’t play your little game

Your value is subjective

And to me, the value’s none

Your mirrors are illusions

And I decree this game is done

ยฉThe Beginning At Last

lol, but no reallyโ€ฆamazing writing Kevin. As always. And very true, we must leave behind in the halls of shattered mirrors what no longer serves us

    1. Thank you, Laura. Sometimes a mirror breaking isn’t bad luck after all.

  2. Paired mirrors are such oddities. Each reflection, newer than its source, a series of aged images. And yet, liars, all.
