A Couple Things

What could you do more of?

I am sure there’s more than a few, actually. But for the sake of brevity, I will keep it to only a couple.

Exercise:

While I always get at least a couple sessions in weekly, it’s nowhere near the volume and frequency I’d like. I used to always be good about getting 5 -7 in weekly, but due to all the schedule flips recently, I have not been as diligent about that. I actually started working on that again over the weekend.

On Saturday, I started working out at 5:15 AM and stopped around 11:15 AM. As the morning wore on the rest periods became longer, but the “official” start and end times are those listed above. Some of the workout was performed outdoors.

On Sunday, I did a brief 30 – 45 minute workout (didn’t time too closely), and called it a day. Today, I will do another brief workout before going to work.

People often ask why I do silly stuff like 1,000 or 2,000 rep workouts, 6 hour marathon workouts, etc. To be honest, it’s just to prove to myself that I can dig deep from time to time.

Drinking Water:

This one, I am, admittedly, terrible about. In all honesty, I cannot stand water at all. I really have to force myself to drink it. It’s something I want and need to work on. More than likely to do it, I will have to get some kind of flavoring agent. Otherwise, realistically, it just won’t happen.

As I said at the beginning, there are a lot of things I could do more of (clean up the diet a bit more, etc.), but those two are currently at the top of my list.

Thanks for reading and I hope y’all have a great day. ๐Ÿ’ช

  2. Reps stack up surprisingly quickly. I did a leg workout yesterday, and that was 440 repetitions and 6 tons moved, even with my light weights due to my back injury. Volume is always key.

    1. Volume is definitely important. I do like to get some heavier low rep work in when I can.
440 is a serious number. Nice!

      1. Squats, walking lunges, stiff legged deadlifts, standard deadlifts, bulgarian split squats, sumo squats, calf raises.

Normally I would do Olympic style cleans with fewer exercises, but my Physiotherapist would be unhappy.

      2. Nice. I haven’t done cleans in ages. I don’t think my hip would approve at the moment. Maybe one day again ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

  5. You and me both ๐Ÿ˜‚. I could use some more exercise. Especially walking in more steep places or hills, or at least take the stairs more often. And I have to drink more water! I’m just like you there, I drink way too less of it because it’s so bland. I’ve been terrible for weeks at drinking water overall, so I’m pretty dehydrated now.

    1. I get it. I just find it to ne an unpleasant hassle.
The exercise I just need to stay a bit more consistent even if I have to vary the intensity from day to day.
I’d say I’m off to drink more water now but that would be a lie ๐Ÿ˜†

  6. I was never a big water drinker either. But I forced myself to get in the habit of drinking it, and it’s become easier. Of course, I don’t think there is anything wrong with a bit of flavoring.

    Happy Tuesday!

  13. A squirt of lime or lemon juice or a dribble of molasses or maple syrup really help the water go down, and are good for the digestion. Also, teaching yourself to drink fast but smoothly eliminates gulped air, making the body much happier with water intake. Always had a problem with it myself. Hope some of this helps.

  14. Exercise is a taboo subject for me. Water, on the other hand. I have a very good relationship with water. Im usually very good about staying hydrated. I think the key is to keep it accessible at all times, like in a tumbler.

Anyways, donโ€™t strain yourself too much in your exercises. And good luck staying hydrated. ๐Ÿ™‚

I used to be great about water, but now I have to set an alarm. Sometimes adding a tiny bit of flavored hydration powder helps. About exercise, not much to say except that’s impressive!

Don’t laugh – but I got myself a treadmill last year, and I’ve used it only a handful of times. It’s mostly used for clean clothes that come out of the dryer and need to be hung up. lol. I really do have to start exercising more and using it for what it should be used for.
