I looked at this prompt a few times and debated if I was going to bother with it or not. I opted “not” to a degree. Not in its original form, at least.
I sat and thought about it a bit, and after some reflection, and looking back on historical events I remember, most of them were not fond memories.
I don’t feel the need to relive a lot of those memories, and quite honestly, I don’t know that anyone really cares to hear me ruminate on 9/11, the Iran Hostage Crisis, the year 2020, or anything else.
It doesn’t mean I don’t remember and respect those memories. It just means that I don’t feel the need to go down a road full of national and international tragedies for the amusement of the WP prompt creators, if they are even human.
I also don’t feel the need to leave the door open for debate on any of those historical subjects.
Shut that door, please.
Some of them tend to be hot button topics, and in the interest of peaceful coexistence, I prefer to leave them be.
People can debate until the cows come home if any specific event was real or fake, and accomplish absolutely nothing except getting pissed off. Personally, I prefer to use that energy elsewhere.
So, on that note, I have a space/time continuum to fix after yesterday’s mishap.
Anyone got a stapler?
