This is a post from last year. I was rereading it as a little reminder to myself of just how life can be. We all need it sometimes.
I also took the opportunity to update the images and add my cool new logo. Otherwise, the post remains unchanged from when it was originally written. Enjoy.

In yesterday’s post I alluded to the need for action even when we’re not always sure exactly what that entails.
I started my day off not really sure what to do or where to start. I rolled all the assorted tasks around in my head, not really sure what to tackle first.
Finally, I just grabbed my phone, dialed it and called to attend to one of the matters I needed addressed. I anticipated being on hold for at least 20 minutes but got lucky and it was less than 5. A brief two minute conversation and that matter was attended to.
Next, I opened up my email and clicked on the next task that awaited me. It took about 10 minutes and I was done.
The rest of the day was spent chipping away at the multitude of minuscule items I had awaiting me.
None of them were earth-shattering, monumental tasks, but they needed to get done. Individually, they may not have amounted to much, but collectively, I got a lot more done than I had anticipated.
I even had time to blog about it yesterday, which was a very nice perk.
I also looked into, and actually started, a couple side hustles for extra cash. They won’t make me a millionaire (yet), but every little bit counts.
Oftentimes we get far too caught up in the notion that progress is going to come in massive leaps and bounds. However, the truth of the matter is life is not always going to be a kick returned 99 yards for a touchdown.

More often than not, life is going to be a game of 3rd and 1. And there’s not a damn thing wrong with that.
Forward progress, whether by miles, by yards or by inches is still forward progress.
Instead of being pissed off at yourself for not sprinting into the end zone on every single play, why not relish the taste of a victory that was bought and paid for with sheer grit, tenacity and determination?
Sure, it may have taken longer than it should, and maybe it could have gone smoother, but hell, you earned every single inch of that turf.
If that’s not something to be proud of then I don’t know what is.
