12/26/24: Added a pic and a video. Otherwise, post is the same as last year, and it’s still my favorite car.
My all time favorite car has to be the 1975 Oldsmobile 442.
It was my first ever car and it was a beauty.
455 with a 4-barrel carb and 69,000 original miles when I got it.
Royal blue with white leather interior and fast, fast, fast.
Passed everything except a gas station, but I did not care one bit. Hell, gas was cheap back then!
Not mine, but this is what she looked like.
It had an 8-track tape player which I promptly replaced with a Blaupunkt cassette stereo, so I could blast all the metal I wanted to my heart’s content.
Great memories of hanging out at the local parking lot with all my friends just looking for the next good time back when we were all young and unstoppable.
I sold it when I went to boot camp and sadly, it was involved in a head on collision by the new owner shortly thereafter.
While it may have headed to that big boneyard in the sky, the memories live forever. It was one hell of a ride!
