Valhalla Morn

Special thanks to Laura for combining the words and picture in the above piece.

The red sky in the above image spoke to me in tones of war. While there is nothing glamorous about warfare, there is a certain nobility to the warrior.

To know the risks of battle and still step onto the field, and to press on no matter the odds, takes a fortitude that not all are blessed with.

While the “civilized” person may not praise war, they must respect those who possess the barbarian virtues. For it is often thanks to them that a civilized life is even possible.

  1. Very true, the last part – especially. You may not respect or agree with war and what it means, but until the warmongers out there no longer want wars (which will never happen because of $$$) then we should at least be grateful for those who put their lives on the line. ❤️ 🙏

Also, Vikings are badass. 🪓 (that’s supposed to be a Viking axe) lol 😆

    2. War is always going to be a fact of life. Conflict is part of existence, I think. I’m not saying that to justify or celebrate war. It’s just reality.
Thank you again for the help, and I am glad you liked the theme. 💗🙏🙏

  3. A very powerful piece and it goes well together with the photo.

I agree with the last part too. And like Laura has said, I can’t see war ever stopping because it is always about the money, and being in power.

    1. Conflict is part of human nature. I can’t say “unfortunately” because sometimes it’s needed. I say this not to celebrate, but to recognize reality.

  5. My friends, it’s a Lovely image. Thank you both.
No doubt the post paints warriors as noble souls, their courage and sacrifice woven into the fabric of civilization’s survival. It stirs the heart, but in its romantic view of battle, we may forget that war is not just bravery—it’s destruction, too.
While we admire the strength of those who face the storm, let’s not lose sight of the chaos they leave behind. A warrior’s virtue is undeniable, but so is the cost of the war they wage and the destruction that is caused. Who has to take the blame? The warrior or the loser?

    1. The destruction and strife that come in the wake of war are very real indeed, and most warriors do not take that lightly. In fact, a lot of them carry those scars forever.
In war, everyone, ultimately, is a victim in one way or another.
