01/09/25: I wasn’t going to post anything other than my NTT today, but I’m going to bring this one back from the dead for two reasons:
First, I really needed this reminder today.
Second, I wanted to put the VH video in because I didn’t include it last year. ๐ค๐๐ค
01/09/24:
I love it when I can sneak a song title into a blog post. Van Halen: “Man On A Mission” for anyone curious.
Anyhow, onto the question of the day!
I used to think a mission had to be some big, grandiose, super-duper, extravaganza complete with explosions, fireworks and a huge victory celebration at the end.
Mission accomplished! Break out the champagne!
I also assumed that an everyday, average guy like myself wasn’t important enough to have a mission or purpose in this world.
That kind of stuff is for the intelligent, the gurus, the superstars.
It took a trip to the bottom of the barrel for me to see otherwise.
It took a harsh round of self-examination and relearning to make me see that I do have a mission and there is a purpose to me being where I am.
It’s a two-part mission, you see.
Part one is to be the best version of myself that I can be. To realize, appreciate and be proud of who and what I am. And to continue cultivating a positive, winning mindset.
Part two is even more important. Part two involves bringing positive energy into the lives of others wherever and whenever I can. Within this mission there also lies the hope that through my words and actions I can help others learn from the mistakes that I’ve made. Hopefully I can help others to see that they too should be proud of who and what they are, and most importantly, that they truly matter.
It is not a simple mission, but I feel it is a worthwhile one. It is also ongoing.
As soon as one hill is taken, another lies ahead to conquer.
Mission: Totally Possible.
